Staying up until ungodly hours reading a 100k unfinished slowburn bc I told myself I would sleep once they finally kissed but the author never got to that part they’ve barely held hands after 14 chapters. And you’ll never guess how the 14th chapter ended… They met other people to dissuade their feelings for each other. How is that even possible im losing my mind. I’m gonna shoot a hostage or whatever

And it’s a rare pair so that was like the only quality fic out of there. Now I have to go to work and care abt normal things

Elaborate in tags

I lowkey see Dickbabs the same way I see Tim’s Red Robin run…. Like it happened and it’s important that it happened but it’s smth to be developed and moved on from, not the status quo for the character. A transitional period that’s not even necessarily good for the characters themselves, but important for character development.

I feel like if it didn’t happen, it would be a loose end, so I like Dickbabs for what it was, and then I even liked their fun flirty angsty exes thing afterward. But that should’ve been it… they each very clearly have better love interests that make way more sense. Actually I would prefer them single than with each other at this point 😭 (Thomas Taylor is no friend of mine)

And to be clear I’m talking abt canon 2000’s full grown nightwing/oracle Dickbabs not retconned batgirl/robin. They were never meant to be endgame and no amount of retconning will change that in my mind. But they were still fun for a second so im reposting this drawing since im yapping abt them 🫶
