presenting my Abbott Elementary alignment chart that absolutely no one asked for.

My rule of thumb for alignment is: Lawful = Thrives with rules; Chaotic = Thrives with freedom; Good = Selfless; Evil = Selfish. It's fine if you disagree with these!

I'm obsessed with ava's growth over the course of the show, but especially this season. She's gone from being cold and flippant to hesitantly but genuinely caring to honest and vulnerable, even with janine.

She wants to come back!! She cares about the kids!! Her job fulfills her!! Every school deserves a principal with her passion and openness.

the thing about gregory eddie and jacob hill is that jacob is a very out and loud and proud gay man who absolutely does not understand the feelings he has for his best friend. he'd been in a committed (yet stagnant) relationship for so long that he forgot what it was like to have a crush. that fluttering excitement he gets when gregory knocks on his classroom door or sits next to him at lunch? or how he fidgets with pleasure when gregory gives him a small smile across the library during a meeting, acknowledging an inside joke? you just don't feel that way about your best friend, you feel that way about a crush.

and gregory, see gregory is this enigma of a man who keeps to himself. so yeah, people assume he's straight and he doesn't correct them. is he bi? pan? demi? your guess is as good as mine. it doesn't really matter to him and never has because he likes who he likes and doesn't care about anyone else's opinion or judgement. feelings do always come slow for him, so it's a bit of a surprise how suddenly they come on for jacob when he breaks up with zach. he wants to be respectful, he doesn't want to push, but he's also smart. he picks up what jacob is putting down, even if jacob doesn't. he sees the blushes, the hitches of breath, the giddiness. so he starts doing things on purpose. brushing their hands together when he hands jacob a pen at a staff meeting. crowding into jacob's space when he reaches across him to grab the salt and pepper. squeezing his shoulder when he says goodbye.

eventually, it's gregory who makes the first move. it takes jacob by surprise, but then all his feelings click into place and it makes sense. they want to keep the relationship to themselves, just for a couple of weeks, but the next day at work jacob kisses gregory's cheek in the lunchroom and the cat's out of the bag.

Happy New Year! After months of obsessing over Jacob Hill & Gregory Eddie, I finally wrote a slash fic for them. I got it done just in time for the new year (posted at 11:59 last night woohoo!). I had to dedicate this to my dear mutual @outhaulscheme who found my hildie snippets on tumblr and always lets me yap about them. Also, they have the best Jacob headcanons, so jot that down.

Sorry I suck at writing titles. Here is a snippet:

Gregory and Jacob sit cuddled on the couch, Gregory’s left arm over Jacob, holding him close. It had been a long day of teaching and preparing for Abbott’s winter show, and Jacob hadn’t wanted to go back to Melissa’s house where his brother was. So Gregory had offered a night in his apartment, and Jacob had enthusiastically accepted.
They were watching Die Hard, which is a Christmas movie, thank you very much. Gregory remembers with horror the reactions from the teacher’s lounge when he had mentioned that it was his favorite holiday film. “How is Die Hard a Christmas movie?” Janine had asked, appalled. “Christmas movies are supposed to be about family and joy and Santa Claus.” “I agree, Janine,” Barbara had said. “I cannot reconcile the birth of Jesus Christ with a movie that includes such foul language.” Melissa had scoffed. “Okay Barbara, not every Christmas movie is about Jesus, and you know that. What’s your favorite?” “It’s a Wonderful Life, of course.”
