another note abt mumbo in the minecraft movie: he made the redstone trap and cave also seen in the movie!
I truly believe the only reason that man went to New Zealand for the Minecraft movie was because he also got to explore the gorgeous landscapes of a new country on someone else’s dime.
So following that theory, I think Mumbo rocked up to set with some insane energy that resulted in him not only sitting down to hair and make up and saying “Hell yeah give me a mullet and an American biker mustache!” but also with him looking at their redstone like “My dudes, you can do this better. Can I- can I just make some adjustment because, oh yeah actually the way you have it wouldn’t even work so can I just, can I fix it?”
Every fact I learn about this movie feels insane and that’s somehow the most authentic thing possible for a Minecraft movie. Like sure. The movie has Jack Black and Jason Mamoa in a pink fringe jacket and Mumbo Jumbo did the redstone and they make a Technoblade reference and a screaming pink sheep appears next to a creeper covered in foliage. Sure. All tracks to how a sandbox game should be played.

I was really against the Minecraft Movie for a long time because I felt no one who has every cried at the end poem would put Jason Mamoa in a pink fringe jacket but maybe they just went with some different aspects of the sandbox open world concept and I have to respect that
Watching Doc and Tango spend time with Pearl is so fun because when she joined I’m sure they thought they were getting another builder. Which she is! She’s a very talented builder. But over the seasons it has become increasingly clear that she is also another insane wizard like the rest of the redstoners.
More experienced hermitcraft fans can correct me, but based on my general knowledge the last time they brought on someone who wasn’t primarily a builder was Zed in season 5.
So I imagine Doc is like “yeah yeah a new person is here, the builds are pretty, cool, whatever” and then 2 seasons later the new girl crawls out of the bottom of her beautiful constructed flower shop covered in redstone saying “yeah I fully automated wordle in the basement, want to play?”
To which Doc can only blink at her and then text Ren like “was anyone going to tell me Pearl was this fucking cool?????”

I adore Cleo. And Pearl and Mumbo bickering in nonsensical Hermitcraft game shows is never something I will turn down, so without further ado please enjoy my stream of consciousness thoughts (brought to you sober this time because drink responsibly kids)

Based on Pearl’s surprise that everyone is in exile and Mumbo’s complete lack of any understand of what was going on, there is a real chance Mumbo left for Patagonia and came back to find the server half exiled and in chaos. He’s just trying to build cogs and everyone else is causing chaos.
I haven’t followed the permit arc this season so is this permit master thing less suspicious in context? Cause at face value of COURSE this is a trap. This is “crate propped up on a stick with a piece of string tied to it” levels of obvious.

I NEED to watch Pearl’s video to see if there is B-roll of her or Mumbo or Grian commenting about old build wars videos. That may induce movie premier photo levels of reactions.

In summary: Anon you are so right that I enjoyed that episode and I am further convinced that Mumbo’s POV of the last few days has just been:

mumbo has a cameo in the minecraft movie and they make him wear this mullet and moustache for no reason and he literally looks like joe exotic. this has no relevance to your blog but i need to tell someone who is as affected by this information than me. for context all other mcyters cameoing are just dressed as themselves. mumbo is just like that for no reason

I want to know if he asked to wear the silly costume. (I bet he asked to wear the silly costume) I love him so much. Actual human Mumbo Jumbo is such a goofy person and I love it. I love the idea that Lizzie talked to the hair makeup department like “should I keep the pink or should my hair be a different color” meanwhile Mumbo is like “CAN I HAVE A MULLET???”

Update: I have seen the mustache and mullet and my verdict is they made him American. They Americanized Mumbo Jumbo.
