Ball culture is NOT the same thing as ballroom dancing classes, you fucking weirdos. House Ballroom (aka: Ball Culture or the Ballroom Scene)—which evolved from Drag Balls—is NOT “ballroom dancing.” I— hmm

This would be like Eddie saying “I took music lessons as a kid” and someone extrapolating from that this must be a Chekhov’s Gun for his gay awakening because of how important House Music is to gay subculture in the US.

The stereotyping here is the shit sundae, the misuse and misunderstanding of Ball Culture is the cherry on top. What really gags me is the use of Ball Culture to back up the homophobic stereotyping. Because Ball Culture exists and it shares part of a name with a different genre of dance and subculture, these two things must be related, and because of this, Eddie’s dance history is evidence of his gayness

Like—this bullshit is ON TOP of the homophobic implication that Eddie’s formal dancing lessons are evidence of his queerness.

you know what? I see their flaws, but they're fictional characters, so I can love them unconditionally and hope/speculate about how they'll overcome the unhealthy habits they've been displaying.
