Do you think being aware of the different elements in art or just ordinary objects can make the process of actually making art difficult? I get that it's about balance and unity of it all, but being introduced to so many concepts early on feels like too much. Almost feels like learning to make art digitally for the first time -> introduced to all these neat gadgets but no idea how to use them or where

This is a crazy good point anon & very important. YES I think it makes it exponentially harder

i miss you blooby

Sorry I been painting in real life also I’m busy. I had some moment where I decided I was through with digital art forever though and now I can’t go back

I just realised I can respond to several asks at once like this without having to do a new post bless. Quick fire round of a few asks I wanted to answer but was too nervous about sorry the text might be really small

I completely forgot I was doodling these and I have them saved you can have them. I’ve mostly just been doing art history reading also like 10 different squirrels kept getting trapped in my house and I had to keep capturing them to free them here’s a photo of me freeing squirrel too

I saw a pheasant outside my house today

You know that second image minus the right part is still by far my favorite thing I’ve ever posted on this account. Thinking about it recently for no reason. Also shoehorning in a drawing I don’t like way enough to post anywhere people will see it

hi there. hopefully this isn't weird, but i wanted to say that you're a real big inspiration for me when it comes to art. your use of colour and textures always catches my eye. hope you're having a good one.

Recent Dirk & Hal drawings from my sketchbook for image. No of course it is not weird, thank you very much. I’m glad I can inspire you. + Thank you to all of the people who send me nice messages on ask box generally. I read them and truly do appreciate it, I’m sorry for not getting around to answering everyone individually. I hope it doesn’t come off ungrateful. Hope you are doing well too, anon

random question, u like dirkroxy ?

I find it wonderful when it’s done well and obnoxious when it isn’t, I lean towards a positive opinion on it I’d say. I still much prefer them as friends though and I don’t think it fits at all into either of their characters

How did you go about developing your style and how long did it take you? I love everything about your art style and the composition and colors, it’s all very visually appealing and flows rly nicely :)

Thank you. Random unrelated Dirk doodle I never posted for picture. Heed the cut for info.

Looove all your art. While rebrowsing through your tag again, I realized what yout style reminded me of! It would definitely fit the vibe of the comic The Department of Truth (Highly recommend btw)

Sick as hell. You only make banger after banger 🗣️🗣️

Thank you, here’s a drawing of Dirk mimicking the style of the comic. I see the resemblance a little with the texture, but even further so and a little more comic booky. It’s kind of hard to replicate digitally actually.

your art is dope as hell. seeing ur stuff on my dash really inspires me to keep going as an artist and to push the boundaries more! if you’re still doing requests id love to see jade in your style :] i hope you’ve had a good week

Shore here is a couple of recent Jades. My week was good I’ve been rewatching Batman movies.

First things first, love the art. Lately I've been trying to practice drawing dirk more but I've been having difficulties with his hair, any idea to break it down into easier parts?

I’m not sure if I’m the right person to ask for this considering I draw Dirk’s hair more attuned to my preferences (my internal Dirk hair headcanons are very important to me nowadays) but this is kind of how I envision / draw his hair.
