So Amazon buys MGM to get James Bond, apparently not realizing that MGM distributed but did not produce James Bond.
James Bond was produced by Eon Productions, a family company that basically only did James Bond, they’re famous for very tight creative control of the franchise.
Anyway, Barbara Broccoli tells Amazon no, you don’t get to produce our movie, just distribute it. Amazon throws a fit and Eon goes “fine, have it” and gives Amazon the rights since Amazon won’t back down
Only now, apparently, nobody wants to do James Bond because the Broccoli family isn’t in charge of it. Lol. Lmao even.
