Takeaway from the past 4 eps of season 2: Kaji is a goat, love that little guy. And you know, I understand we fought Keel and they’re all passed out bc we unlocked our inner strength. But after seeing how Nagato ended up there, nah we gotta break their limbs and shave them bald. Send the leader into a coma idgaf bc that was nasty work. They deadass lured Nagato and trapped him they’d have to die if it were me. The OP is a banger, animation/fight choreo is amazing.

One of the big things I love about windbreaker is how quickly episodes go. You blink 2 times and it’s halfway over, it’s such a breeze to get through. I won’t necessarily say it’s a “turn off your brain” kinda show. But it’s so bingeable and easy to watch :)

Ok but I’d like to discuss the hints being given for the upcoming ateez comeback. Bc in the diaries, we left off with wooyoung making a wish on a red stone for his members to remember their beginnings. To return to how things were.

The official ateez acc tweeted this yesterday. Asking atinys to submit a dream they have. Wooyoung is trying to make his dreams come true. Not to mention the coming ateez tour is literally called In Your Fantasy.

Then Wooyoung comes on fromm today just to announce he will dye his hair. Specially a color he hasn’t done in 5 years, so the general consensus has been it’s either purple or blonde.

Pirate King/Answer Era -> purple/lilac

Wonderland Era -> blonde

We are literally going back to the roots of Ateez. And idk if wooyoung is the only one dyeing his hair but he’s the only one that announced it.

And if you remember in Birthday, Yunho is like this powerful being that receives children’s wishes. And the whole concept is Alice in Wonderland madness with Wooyoung representing Alice. A shot of him in the stars is the ending shot of the mv.

So yeah, this comeback is gonna be lore-heavy and imma need loretinys to get on it. Bc Work was basically like an intermission, its main relevance was to show how the members now have separate jobs and lives after taking down Strictland. And Hongjoong said that IOMT is a self-contained story not connected to the plot line. So we haven’t had a lore significant comeback since Crazy Form.

All I got from the matchblossom segment is that Joe is a pining loser that starts fights with Cherry just to get his attention. But y’know it’s worked so far good for him.

Mostly no comment for the Adam & Tadashi section. Adam practicing his skateboard whacking gave me flashbacks yeah I’m never forgiving him for doing Cherry dirty like that. And people may say “Free Tadashi” but I think Tadashi is exactly where he wants to be LOL

I’ve finished season 1 of Hannibal. I honestly don’t know what to say. Hannibal won. Hannibal won, he fucked us over and played the game right I’m legit speechless.

The only “villain” character that has mindfucked me to this degree is Johan Liebert from Monster (watch Monster btw peak series). That is the biggest compliment I can give him, this season has put Hannibal as one of the best written antagonists. I understand the hype around him now.

I’d like to ask without spoilers what are the Hannibal fandom’s feelings about Jack Crawford? I just finished ep 10 and I have opinions. To be fair, I can’t fully dislike Jack because he’s always stuck between a rock and a hard place. He’s seen that in this job somebody has to be the asshole. But what makes him frustrating is that he keeps flip-flopping on whether he wants what is best for Will or the FBI.

And character development isn’t always a straight line. Sometimes it’s a zigzag, other times it’s a spiral. The problem for me is that he switches so fucking frequently that it’s every other scene or even every other line. Literally in ep 10 Jack is saying Will is his responsibility, saying he’s concerned and if something happens that is his burden to bear. Then 30 seconds later he’s berating Will saying he had chance to quit and since Will has been doing this long enough it should be his stability by now.

I just want to shake Jack and scream WHAT THE FUCK DO YOU WANT?

Jack’s acting like Will shouldn’t be hesitant to talk to him. But in episode 5, before his psychosis got this far Will TOLD him. Will said what he’s seeing is bad for his mental health, the thinking is shutting down and he is slowly losing it. Jack basically guilt tripped him into staying, ending the conversation with “if you wanna quit then quit”. Knowing damn well Will the empath won’t quit after telling him if he leaves he’d be dooming future lives.

Jack’s here upset that Will is pretending to be fine but when Will told him what was wrong he didn’t wanna fucking hear it. And even now when Will is clearly holding his sanity by a thread he’s still sending mixed signals. He’s frustrated at Will that Will seeing and absorbing fucked up things…surprise! Fucked Will up.

I went on a whole rant. I think a lot of this reminds me of my relationship with my dad. And it gets me so heated when I think on it too long. Will’s a grown adult and he makes his own decisions. But you can be in a toxic relationship no matter what age you are, you can’t just leave. Jack thinks bringing Will into this world might’ve been a possible mistake if Will goes mad.

But no. What drove Will to the brink was Jack insisting he stays in it. To the point where Will thinks he has to stay in it too.

I started watching Hannibal, just finished episode 9 and it’s fascinating so far. Firstly, Will Graham is fine AS FUCK that is a scrumptious white man right there. It’s so fun trying to spot moments that I know hannigram shippers lost their minds and Mr. “We are her fathers now” HANNIBAL IS THE PILOT OF THIS FUCKING SHIP he’s so fascinating bc you’re trying to figure out which lines he says are lies or honesty, part of his act or from genuine care.

He’s creating this makeshift family and a part of you wonders if that was the plan all along. Is he doing this because he finds it entertaining or to try and see if he’s still a human capable of feeling love?

We shall see.

I don’t understand how some ppl see Friendly Rivalry as queerbait. It feels like a very black and white, lowkey westernized way of viewing it. You need to remember this is Korean media first and foremost. By sk standards this is undeniably a GL. Plus at no point do any of the actresses, writers or jaeseulgi deem their relationship as only platonic. Subtext ≠ queerbait when will we be free…

If this ended with Seulgi liking a guy while monologuing about how she misses her dear friend yeah I would’ve seen FR as queerbaiting. That never happens, the only people who call them friends are those around them who have no insight to their relationship. Not to mention the queer themes of a girl being controlled all her life by her hyper-religious father who falls in love with a girl who inspires her to break free and live as her true self.

And Hyeri literally said this when the show ended so why be so obsessed over kisses.

“Jaeyi, I hope you find happiness with Seulgi! I support your freedom.”

There was so much emotional depth and love portrayed between jaeseulgi. Their story is just as valid and queer as other gl shows who have makeout sessions or sex scenes.

Well that’s Friendly Rivalry. I’m hoping for a s2 but from what we got, 10/10 it was amazing. Jaeseulgi is in my otps, the plot itself was great. The ending is satisfying for the most part, I’m still confused about some stuff but it didn’t feel rushed imo. That was the main thing I was worried about. Hyeri and Subin were spectacular actresses, Kyung and Yeri side ship stay winning. This was my first Korean GL and from things I hear, there’s really few of them so I hope this series is successful and popular. So we can more GL series from SK that are just as good and even bolder. It seems like it is doing very well but you can’t fully gauge from hit tweets.
