So you're telling me that the rest of the cast is keeping information about certain characters secret from Yuji so that knowledge of their abilities doesn't leak to Sukuna?
Honestly this does kinda explain everything about the weird way Nobara has been handled.
The way Megumi acts weird whenever Yuji brings up Nobara and sidesteps ever saying she is dead? He can't bring himself to lie about Nobara to Yuji.
The fact that no one, not even Maki or Panda, has ever bothered to tell Yuji something like "Hey, sorry about what happened to Nobara"? It's not that they're assholes, it's because they know she isn't dead/comatose/whatever and don't wanna bring it up unprompted.
The way Panda nonchalantly brings Nobara up to Megumi while discussing old vs modern techniques in the Kirara fight despite never wanting to acknowledge her outside of that fight? It's because Yuji isn't around so they don't have to tip toe around discussing her.
The way Gojo doesn't seem to care about Nobara's status? It's because she's perfectly fine and he got told off-screen to preserve the twist.
There is the issue that Sukuna now has access to Megumi's memories and could find out about Nobara, rendering this all moot, but I think Sukuna would have to actively search Megumi's memories for Nobara to find out anything about her. And why would he? Frankly I'd be surprised if he remembered her name.
Tbh I'm still not happy with Gege's decision to basically write Nobara out of over half the story and dragged this reveal out just so he could have a big reveal in the literal last fight of the series, Nobara will be lucky if she gets to be relevant in more than eight chapters even if she does come back. But at least this doesn't make everyone else seem like a bunch of assholes who never gave a shit about Nobara.
