I love the character of Astarion from Baldurโ€™s Gate 3. Heโ€™s truly the character ever because heโ€™s every single vampire trope at once but they all cancel each other out.

Like, he only drinks animal blood but not because he doesnโ€™t want to hurt people, heโ€™s just never been allowed before. He hurts people all the time, itโ€™s one of his favorite things to do. He acts drunk after drinking a bearโ€™s blood because it kicked the shit out of him first. Heโ€™s 200+ years old and still lvl 1. Heโ€™s foppish and high class but has been eating rats and bugs in a crypt for 200 years. He can go out in sunlight and gets sad if heโ€™s underground because he misses the sun. He lies all the time but heโ€™s a terrible liar so itโ€™s always super obvious. Heโ€™s brooding but also whiny. He has no reflection but mostly is just sad about it because he misses petty vanity. Heโ€™s suave but his sense of humor is essentially โ€œman slips on banana peelโ€ and heโ€™d lose his mind laughing at basically any Money Python Sketch. Heโ€™s so extremely, powerfully bisexual.

Iโ€™m deeply in love with him.

I told my gf that I was having an episode earlier and she replied "is it the beach episode" and it shocked me so much that it grounded me immediately

Oh yeah this the ONE!!

I make $18/hr and yes. It's poverty wages.

"But like... that's like so much more money than I make. Stop complaining."

No.

I won't stop complaining.

Just because your poverty wages are worse than my poverty wages doesn't mean that I don't have the right to be mad about my poverty wages. In many parts of the country you can't even afford an apartment at $20/hr. Including where I live.

Not to mention the cost of medication for my disabled ass. Every wage looks a hell of a lot different if you have to spend hundreds to thousands a month on your life saving medication.

Minimum wage should be $30/hr. Period.

Minimum wage should scale with the cost of living for an area actually. In places where the cost of living is astronomical, even $30 an hour wouldn't cut it. In San Francisco, a true living wage would be closer to $70 an hour. It would be a major incentive to regulate prices on damn near everything, but housing especially, because companies definitely don't want to shell out that much in wages.

[ID: a tweet from @1anjohn that says: $15 an hour is poverty and I think we need to say that loudly because right now companies use it as a badge of honor]

So many people wouldnโ€™t have asthma in the first place if it wasnโ€™t for these corporationsโ€ฆShifting blame from actual culprits to people with asthma (and people who canโ€™t help but use plastic straws at that) is peak capitalism.

The unmitigated GAUL of TIME magazine to produce this is unbelievable.

THIS is eco-ableism.

I already anticipate radfems shouting this is unacceptable because abortion restrictions predominantly affect women, and that the overturning didn't have trans people in mind but is oriented at controlling women's autonomy. However, some trans people need access to abortions, reproductive healthcare, and safe avenues for both. Instead of declaring their attempts to support protecting reproductive rights as a narcissistic ploy consider that they also have an interest in fighting misogynistic legislation and protecting reproductive rights.

I'm not going to continue to be nice or forgiving when people are still saying JKR has been going after trans women more than she has been going after trans men. I'm tired of the response to her bullshig being "trans women are women" when she's done irreparable damage to the image of trans men and has successfully spread the harmful and life threatening idea that trans men are just mentally ill girls who haven't accepted their womanhood. Her essay has been out for two years and there's absolutely no excuse for it. By failing to accept that JKR is hurting trans men you are actively putting trans men in danger
