Aroace Sonic pt 8 (no they're not dating)
Sonicโs got all kinds of ways of showing affection. Obviously there is more than just these, itโs just all i doodled last night before passing the heck out in bed hgLKJSDF
1. Sonic usually moves away if anyone expresses active verbal dislike of his physical affection; Knuckles is the exception to that rule. He would genuinely throw Sonic through a wall if he actually didnโt like what he was doing, no words required. But Knuckles is touch starved! He doesnโt know how to do this whole physical affection thing, and most everyone else is kinda nervous about crossing boundaries with him so it means he gets very little touch. Sonic notices that and instead of drawing attention to it, he just invades personal space like the gremlin he is and no one questions it, chalking it up to his usual antics. Knuckles gets a safe place to get the physical affection he needs without worrying about how it looks and Sonic gets to love his friend, it's a win-win. (Rouge is p much the only other person chill with touching Knuckles casually since sheโs just comfortable with physicality and not the least bit nervous around him.)
2. Speaking of Rouge she and Sonic are very silly with physical affection because Rouge is extremely comfortable expressing herself physically and Sonic is chill with p much any small gestures because its just another way of showing affection. Platonic cheek kisses and aggressive flirting are pretty normal for them! They find it funny to fluster other people this way.
3. Sonic will very randomly just plant his hand on someones face if they're standing close enough. No context, no warning, usually they're not even part of the conversation that's happening and he doesn't move it off unless they move it themselves or it's time to leave. (He does this whenever he notices someone zoning out or look like they might be lonely since they aren't part of the main conversation to make them know someone else notices they're there and cares.)
4. Sonic's physical affection is so incredibly casual that if you're around him long enough it kinda starts to fall of your radar and you just stop noticing when it happens, (i.e Tails.) It's much more common than his verbal compliments so it ends up pretty commonplace. Physical touch is actually his first go-to unless the person is really touch-averse.
5. Falling asleep on people is his ultimate weapon because they're less likely to try and escape if he's asleep (cat sleeping on lap rules sorry.) The other reason is because they're free to be as soft as they want without worrying about him using it to gloat at them later. (A lot of stuff this dude does is hecka strategic.)
So i been slowly watching some Sonic X with me bro and I have some hcsโ
1. Sonic seems to love the Chao + classic Sonic low-key mute + Chao don't really speak with words = Sonic grew up around/was raised by Chao
2. Sonic can't stand being trapped indoors without a clear escape route and is just fine sleeping under the stars or in a cave or up in a tree, but Tails needs a home so maybe Sonic and the Chao build a house for him to stay in. Sonic rarely stays in it himself but he does stay to take care of him for the first few years (Tails does not really remember most of this.)
3. Sonic learns to talk solely so he can talk to Tails
4. Once Tails is old enough (i.e can reach the counter and make himself food,) Sonic mostly leaves him to his own devices and goes back to his adventuring with the wind. The older Tails gets the more often Sonic dissappears randomly but he always comes back to check on his lil bro and likes to nap in the hammock Tails made him
Anyway point is I'm a big fan of Sonic's characterization in Sonic X and I'm barely three eps in this is exactly what I wanted from a Sonic show 10/10
Chronic Sonic pt 8 (because I forgot to number the last few postsHCJDJG)
Knuckles fighting for his life out here (Sonicโs fine btw)
1. Sonic eventually finds out his friends have started hiding the emeralds from him and goes actively looking for them. Knuckles will not entertain Sonics self-destructive nonsense and he hasn't slept in a week now because Sonic (and Rouge) keeps trying to sneak the emeralds from him. He'll throw them both as many times as he needs to.
2. Is Rouge really after the emeralds? You bet. (Whether that's to have for herself or simply hide it from Sonic herself because Knuckles hiding place has been compromised, we'll never know.) Buuuut... Knuckles being too busy lecturing her to notice her comfortably using him as a pillow is a nice bonus
3. Sonic is aware he's being self destructive and that his friends are trying to stop him but he's in a little mentally unstable spot. he just finds himself gravitating towards the emeralds and is too tired to really fight the urge or care at all that it could be real bad for him. Mentally deteriorating babyyyyy. Still all smiles tho!
