Buffyfan145's Blog

@buffyfan145 / buffyfan145.tumblr.com

I'm Amanda, a late 30s writer & author. :) I've written nine novels so far with more on the way!!! :D I'm a fan of many things so this Tumblr is going to be very varied between all...

Wanted to finally put a pinned post on my blog about my original fiction. I've written novels, novellas, and short story collections that I've self-published through Lulu and they're available in both paperback and eBook formats on Lulu, Amazon, and other book sites. Most are romances but some are family dramas and soon will have my first fantasy/paranormal short story collection too. All the real world stories are interconnected too by various cameos. Will update when I have new books out.

If Not For You - A YA romance novel about two almost life-long friends and neighbors Lilly and Ben and how their feelings change for each other their senior year of high school.

Double Play - A romance novel about two twin brothers, Paul, a singer/guitarist in an up and coming indie rock band, and George, a up and coming pitcher in MLB; who end up falling in love with a pair of sisters Bexley, Paul's eccentric bandmate, and Anna, a shy bookseller who catches George's eye. Follows the couples through various dramatic events.

On the Outside - A romance novella about college student Lizzy who always felt different from her "perfect" family and is happy to escape them through school. While there she meets and falls for the mysterious "bad boy" Rob who accepts her for just being her.

Rennaissance - A romance novella set in Italy where popular British author Charlie goes for new inspiration and as a reset after his pending divorce. Tara, a young American, has also gone to Italy on vacation with her friends as an escape. Both meet by chance and sparks fly as they realize they can reinvent themselves together.

Angel Eyes - A mystery/thriller romance novel about Angie who goes back to her family's home in Boston after her mother dies. While there she reunites with her childhood friend and crush Vinnie, both realizing they have a second chance of exploring what they could be. However, family secrets and lies start getting exposed and lives end up in danger.

Playing with Fire - A romance novel set in Nashville's country music scene. When a popular country duo forms a supergroup trio with a famous solo artist sparks fly. Both Ian and Audrey are afraid to explore what's between them as bandmates dating usually always end in disaster. But their friendship deepens even through other relationships and they can't deny the connection they have.

Fire & Ice - Two romantic short stories set during the Olympics. One is about Veronika, a US gymnast, falling for US swimmer Nathan during the summer Olympics. The other is set during the winter Olympics about a reporter Melanie, who while overcoming a tragic past is tasked to follow a famous US ice dancing pair and ends up falling for one of them Sam.

Let Love In - An interconnected novel of stories about various members of the Ferrell family in New York City and love in their lives. For some it's new love, some it's starting over, some it's finding self-love, and others true love. Through it all the family bands together and impacts each other in different ways.

Bright Sparks - A YA romance novella about Olivia and Tyler, two opposites who are drawn to each other. She's a cheerful, optimistic girl with a bright future ahead, and he's a dark, guarded boy overcoming a tragic past.

Out Now: Songs on the Radio, Vol. 1 - A short story collection with the concept of each story being based off of one song. Will contain various genres and 14 stories in total.

Coming Soon: Enchanted Tales, Vol. 1 - A fantasy/paranormal romance short story collection.

Posting this since a lot are also doing this and some are worried that this site might be dying again (I've been here so many times that I doubt it and I think they'd let us know like when MySpace did so we can save our stuff) but you can find me on most other social media sites with my same username I use here. I'm not active on everything but being an author I do have an account on almost all, though my FB is private. Also tagging this in the Haladriel tag for my fellow shippers too and in case they haven't seen these posts. Again, I don't really think this site is going away but more that the staff from Wordpress is taking over more operations.

Very happy to see "The Law According to Lidia Poet" got renewed for season 3!!! 😀 Thing is though it got renewed 4 months ago and I just found out about it by finally googling what was going on with it. LOL It's an Italian show on Netflix but it available to watch worldwide, and barely any US TV news sites I check ever posted about the renewal and if they did they buried it in an article where it wasn't mentioned in the headline. Also I follow Matilda on Instagram but I don't remember seeing a post, unless she did and I just didn't see (which happens over there). Either way again very happy we're getting a 3rd season.

Got some more news from Deadline about the state of the NBC show renewals and looks like a good news/bad news situation with "Grosse Pointe Garden Society". The bad news is it's likely not going to be renewed by NBC. However, the good news is that it might be at Peacock where it does better. The switch to Friday has gained more viewers not just on NBC but even more on Peacock. Deadline's reporting the show is liked at both and critically well reviewed, as well as by the fans, so if it keeps the ratings up at Peacock they might renew it. It also costs cheaper than other Peacock shows to make, which is a plus for them too. We should know the show's fate in the next couple weeks.

Getting towards the end of "Batman: Resurrection" and we're getting more chapters from the Burton/Keaton version of The Riddler Ed/Norman and I really like this twist that besides the puzzles and riddles, he actually considers himself the world's best detective and is actually helping Batman out without revealing his true identity, as he solved who the real villain of the book is and who is controlling Clayface/Karlo. 😀 This also fits some recent comics where Ed became a PI after leaving prison. For the unmade 3rd movie they were considering multiple actors including Robin Williams and Chevy Chase, and now I can see why they were thinking about Chevy. This version of Ed, going by the name Norman, reminds me a lot of Chevy's character from the "Fletch" movies (which is also a PI book series). Which again weirdly fits into Cory Michael Smith's version as Cory revealed to play Chevy in the "Saturday Night" movie he kept re-watching "Fletch", and Cory became my favorite version of The Riddler thanks to "Gotham". 😏 So now reading this version of Ed I keep picturing Cory but now it's also got that bit of Chevy/Feltch too and I can't wait even more for the book focused on Ed/Norman in October. 😀

Sad to see one of my local news channels let go their youngest weather guy. 😔 He was so cute and one of the nicest, posting things on social media too especially when we were dealing with some nasty storms. My Mom loved him too and is so sad about it. Really sad how the local channels are changing since all of ours are nationally owned now and the days of having the same weather team and newscasters for decades are gone.

sometimes I wonder how y'all are obsessed with specific characters and I'm like "why them" but then I remember that sometimes its literally not your choice you just look at them wrong and all of a sudden they're taking up your every thought forever

to quote someone who was a genius on bluesky:

Loving this "Batman: Resurrection" novel (the new book series that's set between the Burton/Keaton "Batman" and "Batman Returns", which I have been making posts about) and just got to a great chapter where we got reaction POVS to the major event Karlo/Clayface did on TV from not just Bruce, Alfred, and Vicki, but some character POVs making their duet like Drake Winston/Robin, Ed/Norman/Riddler, Selina Kyle, and Barbara Gordon/Batgirl!!! 😀 These 4 aren't in their personas yet like we saw in "Returns" or the "Batman 89" graphic novels/comics (which take after "Returns") but I'm so happy to see them all here and a part of this series. Ed/Norman/Riddler was even trying to help Batman, which was great. Even more excited to finish this book but also get book 2 "Batman: Revolution" which is more focused on Ed/Norman/Riddler later this year. So glad we're getting what could've happened in more movies/a show if it had kept going.

Haven't seen this shared over here yet but had to so the Charlie fans over here can freak out too!!! LOL 😀 One of the fans found an interview Charlie did during the "Rings of Power" s2 press tour on Instagram (linked in the comments) where he revealed he was in a jazz band as a teen/20s and besides the guitar and singing he also plays the drums and is actually better at that!!! I know a lot of us have used this for fics and Sauron being a singer too, so this will be a fun bit to use if any do the music/modern day band AUs. Also, weirdly this is the 4th actor of mine in the past month that I found out played drums and 2 were in jazz bands, and I'm normally a guitarist girlie. LOL 😏
