2-D, or Stuart Pot, from Gorillaz is an Italian Greyhound.
The Italian Greyhound is the smallest of the sighthounds. Bred to hunt hare and rabbit, this dog is now kept mostly as a companion dog. After WWII their numbers declined but were reinvigorated by Maria Luisa Incontri Lotteringhi della Stufa. It is classified as a toy breed by the American Kennel Club and the Kennel Club of the United Kingdom. In the words of the AKC, “Bred for centuries to be doting companions and jesters, these high-stepping charmers refuse to be ignored. On the whole the breed would much rather be in your lap or bed than on the floor. They are, though, true sighthounds and will bolt after quick-moving prey at the drop of a cat.” No, that is not a typo, they said “drop of a cat”. Hilarious.
Odd question: Was there ever a reason why 2-D was so sweaty in phase 7? Even in promos where he wore the "I AM THE LAMB" shirt, he had stains under the pits and on his collar.
He was sweating in the pink one, too. (I swear you can see faint sweat around his collar.)
But after Silent Running, he starts wearing the "Royal Trux" shirt, and the sweat is gone...
Except no it's not- it's there when he's on the Ferris wheel. Even so, it's subtly still there in the top image.
I know it's just a retexture, but that's been a detail thats been eating at me. The Forever Cult apparently took care of him n shit. Did they not bother with... cleaning his clothes? Maybe Stu can't handle the LA heat- idk.
Either that or the plastic surgery ain't working out. (Something something the point of the 3D models looking this way probably being some commentary about how "clean" Hollywood actors look to the point of plastic. The band got plastic surgery to accommodate living at Silver Lake or some shit)
I don't know the point of this post- I started this off zooted and it's been in my drafts for forever. Nothing serious. Just curious.
This may be a wrong take about the recent posts going on Gorillaz. But, the static at the end of their recent posts (just the Cracker Island reels currently) keeps me wondering, as many are I'm assuming, if this is either new phase stuff or the anniversary stuff.
My brain keeps seeing either or as if it's gonna erase/retcon a phase or two... Or more. They've their lore and there's always gonna be inconsistencies, I know. But the email is by someone with some kind of vendetta against them and what better way to get revenge than to send them back to the start? Back to the beginning with nothing. We had portals and zombies and an entire island made of plastic along with a plethora of asinine shit- what throws time travel out of the question?
Perhaps this is related to the 25th anniversary coinciding with the system breach email. If they release other clips of the past with that same glitch effect, then it wouldn't be singled down to "Oh they're retconning Cracker Island" which... Would be asinine considering the state things are currently. (Noodle should have done what needed done.)
I am running on no sleep and all excitement. I'm so fucking wrong about this but the what if makes my brain itch. I'm here for the ride until the end. I like the characters even with the newer lore and I like to see them in either more wacky bullshit or some mundane but bizarre shenanigans. They're cartoons- anything is possible.
I dunno- just a ramble. Posting this after seeing someone share the same sentiment/idea.
Okay- wicked. Recent reel did the glitch effect at the end of On Melancholy Hill. So it's not retconning phases. So it's most likely the anniversary thing after all. Or, perhaps, a peek into the newer phase?

When the music starts back up emits the sound of rain. Could be symbolism of him crying/depression or somethin but, even through a storm and rain, he finds comfort in making music. Working with his sadness but also combating it in the way he knows how: being creative.
Sorry to ramble. The Fall is always called a mid album but it's like The Now Now where it's a peek in 2-D's way of thinking. Mad sweet.

- While he’s marked by lack of ambition, I’d like to point out the fact he’s very dedicated to what he’s interested in. ( Such as getting a Saturday job just to save up for a Subbuteo set + tinkering with old keyboards with his dad )
He’s just made up of all these contradictions between the character type he was meant to fit and the character he actually turned out to be but I really love the substance and little nuances that make him up !
