Meta, which is Facebook, Instagram and Threads, is now involved in a massive lawsuit. Internal memos have been released that prove Meta intentionally stole hundreds of thousands of books - including all of mine - to data scrape and train their AI. There’s a class action suit just about to be launched, they’re waiting for the judge to determine if this is protected under the Fair Use laws, which it is absolutely not.

I am begging you to see that piracy is inexcusable, whether it’s a single person who doesn’t want to pay for the book to a despicable multi trillion dollar corporation who thinks they’re entitled to take your creative work for free. Authors write because we love it, because we love sharing these stories with you, because we love your reactions so much.

Because you are our community.

We have an epic used bookstore in my town that’s been here for at least 50 years. The owner is a cantankerous old soul who changes around the bookshelves and where you can find a particular genre because “you should be checking out other types of books.” If you’re there for a romance, he’ll steer you over to the Machinery section, if you’re there for science, he’ll find you the weirdest Alpha shifter book ever. I am so in love with this man. Also, I know a lot about small engine repair now, thanks to him. #usedbookstoresarethebest #keepreadingbooks

Finders, Keepers - A Dark Scottish Mafia Romance. Luna’s lured to the island, filled with cruel rich men - the Lords of Chaos. In the Dark Games, if they can catch her, they can keep her. I’m writing the chase through the forest and laughing in an unhinged way. Even the dog is looking me with concern. Finders, Keepers is live on March 28th.

I feel like we all should get a pass like this every now and then. Like a signed note for your boss, or teacher, or life in general. It seems fair. Take a breath and have some tea with me.
