i’m always open to talk about random brainrot and rant about all the things that fill my adhd brain. you may call me caramel, taffy, or grace/gracie :]

asks and dms are always open! you may always ask/dm me anything if you’d like :D of course, no porn/grooming pls

other fandoms include: six of crows/grisha trilogy, any of v.e. schwab’s books, hunger games/ballad of songbirds and snakes, wings of fire, percy jackson (and related fandoms like magnus chase), gravity falls, marauders, harry potter, the owl house, phighting, atla, mouthwashing, pressure

fandoms i interact with but aren’t in: arcane, mcyt (the shackles still bind me)

i have a varied music taste! whatever makes my brain tingle is considered a good song to me :) i do have hotel ugly, JAWNY, flawed mangoes, and arctic monkeys playing often tho

! if you don’t want to see palestine/gaza genocide reblogs, don’t go into my account. i try to keep my account friendly, but palestine needs to be acknowledged, not some marauders brainrot. !

this blog is a safe space for all orientations, sexualities, genders, identities, and everything in between! we’re all just silly goobers in the end

younger audiences are welcome, just beware of older content! :)

and my wonderful amazing husband who supplies me with amazing art: @thebleedingwing

my tag system is pretty simple & easy to understand:

#apple rambles - the general tag i use for my original posts, like textposting and shitposting
#apple does polls - where i post my polls (because i tend to forget about them and i need to check up on them when they finish)
#apple answers asks - where i answer my asks! #taffy’s favorites - generally some of my favorite posts that i’d like to keep #taffy’s collection of historical artifacts - where i keep ancient tumblr posts, like spiders georg

do NOT interact if:

-> you support pedophilia/support MAP

-> you are a homophobe and/or do not believe in LGBTQIA+ rights

-> you are a transphobe and/or do not believe in trans rights

-> you don’t support palestine

-> you think therians/furries are weird (they chill fr)

-> you don’t support disabled people

-> if you stand against autistic people

-> if you are racist

to people asking for funds/donations in my askbox:

i will not answer your ask. why? because:

  • i have no money to give as a minor and a student
  • the majority of these asks are unverified and i can’t be sure if they are scams or not
  • ^ the majority of these asks are scams and very, very few (as of late) have been legitimate
  • my blog does not have enough reach for the fundraiser to get the appropriate amount of funding & attention it needs

however, i still wholeheartedly support gaza and all palestinians and i will continue to reblog posts about fundraisers and the situation in gaza. i will never stand for nor support israel.

The DREAM

I distinctly remember the first time my dad called me my right name. I was sixteen, I’d gotten my driver’s license not too long ago, and now that I was driving, my dad gave me a credit card so I could get gas, or food if I was staying late at school due to marching band. He was very clear, this card was for food and gas only. Only gas and food. Just those two categories of product. He would be checking the bill. I had no desire to buy anything else with this card.

However. Often when getting food after marching practice, or on our scant breaks, I’d drive my friends to burger king or little ceasers or starbucks or whatever, and sometimes not all of my friends could afford the food they wanted. And well…food is food. I have a big appetite, and as long as I didn’t go crazy overboard and order catering for the whole band, a few extra burgers and shakes wouldn’t stand out on a monthly bill. So I bought my friends food.

I did this for several months, and sometime during that came out to my parents. They both thought it was a phase, and that I would grow out of it. Since they’re not terrible people their approach to me having ‘a boy phase’ was to let me do my thing and wait for me to change my mind. I didn’t change my mind, and eventually they understood that, but that’s a whole other post. The point is my dad didn’t discourage me from transitioning, but avoided talking about it with me. He stopped calling me his daughter, but replaced it with child rather than son, that kind of thing.

But back to the credit card. Eventually I started feeling guilty. TECHNICALLY I was obeying the rule ‘food and gas only’, but I knew I was bending it. I nervously admitted to him one day that sometimes…on occasion…once in a while… I’d buy a friend food. I waited solemnly for his judgement. He walked over to me, put his hands on my shoulders, looked into my eyes sternly and said,

“Zackary, we are Italian. If you let your friends go hungry….” (and here he decided to shake me just for a little emphasis) “I will disown you.”

And that’s when I knew he’d come around. Trans? Fine okay sure, give it a shot. Stingy? Get the fuck out.

So I've had this joke in my head for a couple months (at least), but hadn't found the right spot to make it. Today it is complete.

A hole in my jeans?

Hmm? What's this?

A Patchypus?

REPAIRRY THE PATCHYPUS!!!?!!!

Hero of the Year 2025

I'm calling it early - I doubt anyone will beat The Right Reverend Mariann Edgar Budde

(I sure hope I've addressed her correctly)

For the most stunning act of bravery, class, integrity, and speaking truth to power that has graced the USA in far too long.

Not a single shake in her voice as she spoke directly to one of the most vengeful, spiteful, and (unfortunately) powerful people on the planet, while also receiving glares of hate and outrage from the despicable VP and his wife.

It's not the first time she's stood up for what is right in defiance of trump's actions, but while many may speak out on it, there have been scarcely any with the backbone to follow through on the opportunity to do it to his face, and especially on live television. She had her moment, and she didn't waste it.

May she be the inspiration we all take forward with us into the turbulent times ahead.

my dad, trying to explain the concept of money to me: say you have a sandwich, and i need your sandwich. but i don't have anything to give you. you're not just gonna give it to me.

me: i would just give it to you.

my dad:

in elementary school we had. basically an immersive economics lesson that was "playing City," with different jobs and businesses; it was mostly semi-free time for socializing and selling/buying toys and snacks from each other. one of the lessons we were supposed to learn was the importance of paying a small amount of money into health and/or business insurance, because you had a chance of being hit with the Daily Disaster and a huge bill.

anyway, some kid who didn't buy insurance got hit with a "medical bill" early on, so he was supposed to be bankrupt and have to sit the rest of the game out. the 8 year olds were not having it and spontaneously invented crowdfunding so he could keep playing with everyone else.

kids who don't 'get it' are right, actually

endlessly, morbidly fascinated by how when you're a kid you're constantly having parents, school, religion, media, all drumming it into your head that Sharing Is Good And You Need To Do It, and then you grow up and suddenly they're all like right never mind all that, this is The Real World and it's every bastard for himself

Capitalism is not natural and mutual aid is intuitive. The gift economy is about sharing what abilities and passions we each develop, enriching communities. Kids spontaneously crowdsourcing instead of leaving someone ostracized for "not playing the game right" is evidence that a large bulk of social problems are based in arbitrary rules.

Going to take this opportunity to plug a go fund me for someone I know needs the support, and the knowledge that there's a community ready help him meet achievable goals.
