What if for next year's April fools we start talking about the batgirls the way fans talk about Tim Drake
Bruce 100% has a contingency plan for Cass and it involves taking away her chocolate ice cream until she agrees not to be a supervillain. Jason thinks this is hilarious until he realises its due to her parents starving her as a kid and the only thing she was able to find to eat was chocolate ice cream. He never makes fun of her chocolate addiction again after that, and he adds Janet- I mean David Cain to his kill list.
Just realised that if Cass became truely fanon popular there is a chance that people would headcanon that Shiva actually would have been 500x more abusive and evil then David Cain and would characterise her as such in their hurt/comfort batfamily AUs.
Shiva fed Cass hot chilli peppers growing up even though she was allergic 😔

Ranking the batkids on who would be the best Batman
- Jason. Could you imagine how beautiful it would be? All those years of defying Bruce only for Jason to finally come around and admit his dad was right. Wearing the suit to honor him and as a symbol of his redemption. He's also like the smartest and most ruthless batfam member ever so he'd clean Gotham up so easily.
- Tim. He'd be such a supervillain xD but he'd get the job done! He deserves to snap and let his evil side flourish and being Batman would be so fun he'd basically become Jason.
- Damian. Bruce's biological son it's his destiny. He was born to wear the cape it makes sooo much sense for him to be Batman and the trio of him Jon and Trinity is just perfect. Superbat 2.0 and their kid 🥰
- Dick. He was alright I guess but he put Jason in jail next to the Joker and threw Tim into Arkham and let Damian do a ton of evil shit to Tim without ever putting his foot down. I love him I just wish the writers would have him take accountability for his mistakes as Batman.

really wish DC gave us more dick and cass interactions in the early 2000s. especially bc they were bruce’s only 2 kids at the time, considering tim was with his dad, and they’re shown as close but we don’t know how they got there. theyre such similar characters and yet different in a lot of ways, and you can tell dick really cares for her :((

Guys I was mulling over that fanon bat family when it hit me that I have played these games before.
Fanon bat family is the watered down version the the Gacha Aston family
It all matches up, like giving characters obsessions over a single food item (Elizabeth Afton to Tim And Steph) the babification of chars over events that did not happen. ( Micheal’s friends blaming Micheal Afton for Crying child’s death to Tim drake being put in Arkham) Fanon Tim Drake is almost the same damn character as Gacha Micheal Afton. It even has that woman hatred of either making Elizabeth a happy go lucky icecream loving kid with no trauma who loves shipping her friends together ( Steph) or making her A fucking wreck who can’t do basic things because she’s so traumatized (Cass)
They both even do the thing were when the fandom gets too popular and emo edgy version is made for the express reason to shit on the original for being unreason and too happy (Edgy Gacha Afton family is where we’re find Damian and Jason and the Crying Child)
(Duke does not get a mention because both version exclude their black cast)

I have no clue what the Gacha Aston family is but I'll take your word for it!! The fanon portrayals of the Batfam are definitely not unique, you could probably map a lot of them onto general fanon archetypes. Even though I think the Batfandom has a little more people who don't engage with the source material, it's not an isolated thing, and is emblematic of fandom as a whole.
I have nothing against participating in 'fanon'/fandom only tbh, the line between fanon and canon is a bit more nebulous than we sometimes realise. But it's the treatment of women and POC characters that gets me every time. Fanon-only people who love and respect women and POC have my respect and I wish them nothing but happiness!!! But the general fandom structure prioritises White male characters, and I really wish it didn't.

Ah that sucks!!! I won't directly link the one I use here (it probably doesn't make a difference but just in case??) but you can check out this subreddit (the third link is what I use). It does have lots of ads though so make sure to have an ad blocker. Hope that helps!!
