Different kind of near death experience 🤣

Prayer Request

Hey all, please pray for a woman whom I’ll call S. She is in a scary stalking situation with her recently ex husband. Please pray for safety for her and her kids, that he won’t be able to take control of her accounts, and that law enforcement will do something helpful soon.

My sister-in-law visited her dad about a week ago to see about talking him into rehab for his alcoholism. While she's visiting, he collapses. He's taken to the hospital where they discover a brain tumor.

They operate and remove the brain tumor. They perform a biopsy and have reason to believe it's metastatic. They look around a bit more and find stage 4 lung cancer. They would have estimated 5 years if he were healthy. 1-2 years is more realistic.

As you can imagine, this is all a lot for my sister-in-law. She's a relatively young Christian, having gotten back into church thanks to meeting my brother. But God's grip is stronger than her's. She is persevering and praying.

She hopes her father has enough time to be saved. She does not want to spend eternity without him.

The doctors estimate 3 months now.

My sister-in-law is reading to him and praying for him. She says it seems to be having an effect.

Please pray for her that even though her father's time is almost certainly drawing near, the whole family can know God through this. My sister has family she hasn't gotten along with for some time, and they're all here to see her father.

He's not the only one who needs healing.

Her youngest sister previously called herself agnostic.

Now she accepts Christ as her savior!

Im here because its one of the few places where I can speak about the UK without being arrested so far

This is the only place where I can interact with fandoms, memes, religion, and politics without needing multiple accounts.

Also. The more I hear about the UK, the more I fear for Europe. Damn.

I love being able to see many types of things from posters I have come to respect and value, I love that nothing decides FOR ME what I am interested in.

Don’t buy other stuff

Sometimes I think about how the paintings of the agony in the garden are ……..inaccurate? I mean Jesus is fully God but He is also fully man and when we are afraid we don’t usually look up placidly at the sky while kneeling in the grass. I basically break down before taking a hard exam and you think that Jesus was all stoic like that before He was tortured and died for us? No, He sweat blood.

Oh God yes. Christ begged and pleaded with God, sweat blood, and felt abandoned in all of his humanity. He joined us on the ground. A few more paintings:

I love that so many show Him lying prostrate in prayer and obedience to the Father. While I am not nearly well-read enough to definitively know the theological reasoning, I like to think that this is why priests do this when they are ordained.
