Since I'm therapist-posting recently:
Legitimately self-compassion is the biggest mental health life hack of all time. I'm NOT talking about self-esteem. You do NOT have to like yourself one bit. You don't have to believe that you're a good person who deserves good things. You just have to believe that you're a person who deserves the things all people deserve.
You can't get from "I'm the Worst" to "I'm a worthy and lovable person" without passing through "I'm just a regular fuckup like everybody else."
Try it on. If you're really addicted to being mean to yourself, you can start by framing it as I'm Not Special. Embrace being a regular fuckup like everybody else.

The higgs boson discovery was made possible by AI sifting through data that was estimated to take humans 500 years to go through and with less accuracy.
AI/ML is a tool like any other. It's not a miracle fix for everything, just like how it isn't an evil entity
Getting my big font because I've said this before and I'm getting angy about it:
You need to stop saying "AI" when you mean "generative AI".
You need to stop inferring "generative AI" when you just see "AI".
You are throwing the baby out with the bathwater.
Analytical AI is amazing for things like: Archeological analysis (they're analyzing burned scrolls from the 72 Vesuvius eruption to get a full library from Rome) Medical diagnosis (one just caught my mother's breast cancer in STAGE ZERO) Protein synthesis Physics analysis Astrophysics analysis Any place where there is so much data that a human being cannot digest it all in a single human lifetime and draw conclusions from it. These are all valid, helpful uses. A glorified autocomplete is not the same thing.

On November 7, 2024, Denmark used a racist, culturally biased "parenting competency" test to remove a 2 hour old baby, Zammi, from her loving indigenous Greenlandic Inuit mother, Keira, because her native language, which uses minute facial expressions to communicate, will not be able to "[prepare] the child for the social expectations and codes that are necessary to navigate in Danish society." This test had been recommended not to be used at the federal level before this happened but certain municipalities, including the one this happened in, chose to continue to use it regardless. Not only is this blatantly racist but also violates multiple declarations and conventions that Denmark has signed that protect the rights of indigenous people.
