Anyone else having trouble with links not previewing properly? Usually when I add an AO3 link to a post it displays a preview of the title etc (as pictured) but it won’t do it. Anyone else know why or how to fix it?

'How We Are (but not how we're going to be)' is an AOS Enemies to Friends to Lovers story with some interesting TOS references. Jim and Spock aren't working well together after the events of 2009, they're butting heads and it's affecting their crew and their ability to command. After an intervention by Bones, they end up in couples counselling to try and address their difficulties in communicating effectively.

Jim gets a threatening message from his Stepfather and, while he keeps his fear and agitation secret, he becomes more and more reckless on missions to the point where he has absolutely no regard for his safety. 

Spock, after finding out, has to decide which road to take to handle the situation; staying to comfort Jim or leaving to confront the man causing this pain.

If you like Spock POV fics then this one is really good. It's a 200k+ long fic that gives us all the details of Spock's life from his days at the Academy right through the events of 2009 and on into the 5 year mission. It's very much a character study, and does explore his previous relationships, but all roads lead to Spirk. Once they meet it takes on an enemies to friends to lovers trajectory and it's highly enjoyable.

Omg I loved this fic sooooooo much! As with everything written by @jennelikejennay it's an absolute corker of a story. This TOS Master and Commander AU sees James T. Kirk as Captain of the HMS Enterprise as part of His Majesty's fleet during the Napoleonic wars with Britain. He has an extremely capable, if somewhat curious First Mate called Spock, who has strange pointed ears and never smiles. Definitely worth a read!

If you enjoy a heavy dose of angst (with a happy ending) then this AOS fic leans hard into the trope. Some of it is so heartbreaking but it's a great story with a good twist and an ultimately happy ending. There are also some fun references to TOS episodes.
