i’m blue and I draw for a living. commission me to draw your weird women characters. she/they, 20's.

my Fabula Ultima PC Maellery and her rival Artemisia, the Thorn. as soon as i saw "rival" was a trait you could pick for a PC i had to jump on that. from their complementary color palettes u can deduce there is toxic yuri afoot, obviously

i was directed here by someone who commissioned you for some rpg art and i have to say that your art is outstanding, i love it.

Question 13 for Genevya, question 6 for Carnavalet, question 10 for Fleurs 🌷🌷🌷

Avatar

Question 13 for Gen was answered in a previous ask here!

6. What was the thought process behind their appearance? Did you go mostly for the aesthetic or are there other reasons they look the way they do?

Carnavalet's appearance has changed sooooooooo much oh my god. His very first design (in the vault forever) looked too similar to Richard so I scraped it completely and started from scratch. I wanted him to look as unassuming as possible. Boy next door type vibes. The white hair is purely aesthetic, it's just because he's a circus performer.

10. What is their main character arc in the story? Where do they start and how do they develop? Do they get a happy ending or is their story a tragic one?

Dear Fleurs... Her arc is one of a person whose insecurities get the best of her. She's a deeply insecure person from the start but her issues crystalize during the story until she's faced with a choice: hold onto her beliefs or change her ways. Fleurs is too afraid of the way others see her to change herself meaningfully, and the terror of appearing flawed is what dooms her. She does not get a happy ending, but the sad, bitter one of a privileged person who cannot let go of the status quo and is left behind when things change in the world

For the oc ask: Genevya 13 & 5?

5. How did you choose their name and why? Was it simply based on vibes or is there any specific meaning behind the name? Are the reasons behind their name different in- and out of universe?

Genevya's name is a fantasy variant of the name Genevieve, which I've always loved and is also the name of the saint patron of Paris. I wanted her to be detached from an actual historical and religious figure though so I kept the name's vibe and made it just a little bit fantasy.

In-universe, the first Saint of the city is also called Genevya and calling your child after her is supposed to bring them luck and prosperity. Gen's mother was being a bit ironic with this one

13. Do you have a voice claim for this character? What do you imagine the character sounds like?

The closest thing I have to a voice claim for Gen is Allie X, but specifically the way she can modulate her voice and the "talking" parts of her songs. To me Gen sounds radio host-smooth, a little bit raspy, a little bit deep

Can I get an 8 for Gen and Richard?

8. What is the origin of their personality? And let's be honest - how much of it is projecting?

Veryyyy interesting that you asked for Gen and Richard because in a way they have a lot of traits that foil the other's.

Genevya is the one that went through the most changes. Originally (more than a decade ago...) she was a very happy-go-lucky character, very sweet and bubbly, but the story's setting was also very different. Overtime as the plot and setting changed it made sense for her to become more combative and mean - it's the natural reaction to how the setting treats her. You can't be happy and kind all the time in a world that wants you dead. Gen is not similar to me at all but she does have the guts that I wish I had lol

As for Richard he's probably the character I project on the most if I must be honest. His character arc was always about doing something that you think is expected of you instead of doing what you truly want to do and having a misplaced sense of duty, which shaped his personality in turn. Reserved, stand-offish, quiet, but with a kind heart and the will to sacrifice himself and what he wants for the greater good. Again he was shaped by the setting of the world, although way less dramatically than Genevya. The big difference on how they react to the world around them is that Genevya is ready to kill for her cause while Richard is ready to die for it. Don't ask me what that says about me 😬

Also Richard is autistic which is both projection on my part and shapes his personality. His love of alone time and the fact that many other characters consider him cold and distant/intimidating are the main traits I passed onto him in that regard.

Character asks!

These are more focused on the background stuff rather than the usual "what would the character do in XY situation" kinds of asks. I've been looking for something like this for quite a while and in the end decided to make my own. Feel free to use, go wild, enjoy
