ohhhh i know canonically it’s the arcade to play ddr but i think they’d really like going to like a boardwalk carnival too … they have a competition to see who can win the other more stuffed animals from silly games and it ends in their bed being more plushie than there is room for them to sleep

jay gets to walk around with cotton candy and point at dangerous rides and go “let’s go on that one >:D” and nya agrees on the compromise that he tries a weird looking carnival food that she’s been eyeing for five minutes straight (even though he would have done it regardless). they basically stay from sunrise to sunset because they can’t get bored of anything when they’re with each other …

and they’re so tuckered out afterwards each time that they sleep through training the next morning but no one has the heart to wake them bc they deserve to rest : (

There's a heavy silence that settles over the two of them. And Kai feels like he may suffocate.

Jay watches him from the corner of his eye, trying to be secretive about it, trying to hide the fact that he's watching. Kai can see this, but he doesn't have the strength to say anything. No comment, not even an “oh”.

Jay's house is full, cluttered, always has been, but everything feels so empty.

Jay stands up.

In some way, Jay looks the same as his house. Distant, cold.

Kai swallows the lump in his throat.
