The words rang through your head, swirling through your thoughts, dizzying you more than you thought possible. What a mean set of words.
Soon, I'm a little busy.
Each word, each syllable, each damn letter brought down a pain of its own. The power those words had on someone, to cause them to do this.

No, you should be sorry. You should have been the one apologising. Blood, sweat and tears, on your knees and begging for forgiveness, because this was never meant to happen.

You wish you knew beforehand. Then maybe you could have helped. Maybe this wouldn't have happened. Maybe nothing would have ever gone wrong.

Two of them, dressed in their usual blue stepped into the room, papers and files in hand. They told you it wasn't your fault, that there was no way you could have predicted it. But you couldn't but feel this was all your doing anyways

Minutes felt like hours. Or maybe it was hours. You couldn't really tell. Or maybe you could but none of it really made sense in your mind. Finally, it came to an end.
"One last question. We saw on her phone that you were the last person she called, right before the likely time of death. What was the last thing she said? Her family would like to know."
"Last words..?"
I just wish we could've talked.
