Pregnant Charles Week Day 5: Divorce au

Charles and Erik have been divorced for decades but only the two of them seem to believe that

Periodic rent-lowering-gunshots:

  1. Fiction is not reality.
  2. You can enjoy things in fiction that would be awful in the real world. Like playing a murderhobo in a game! In the real world, being or supporting a murderer-thief would be pretty damn awful, while in the game it's just good fun. Same with anything else you choose to do with the pixels on the screen, like kinks that don't affect anyone real, so they're okay in fiction, but would be pretty damn bad in real life.
  3. No one else is responsible for your online experience. They are required not to harass you, but they are not and never will be obligated to not post about ships, kinks, or tropes you dislike just to avoid you seeing them. It's up to you to blacklist words or phrases, block tags, or even block users as needed to avoid seeing content that upsets you.
  4. No one can force you to read anything against your consent. Any content you don't like seeing can be instantly avoided by closing out of the offending post/fic.
  5. You are not owed an online experience free of discomfort.
  6. Nothing that happens in your imagination can ever make you a bad person. Words you write or read about fictional characters will never make you a bad person.
  7. The claim that media consumption influences real-life behavior is intellectually dishonest and serves only to excuse the behavior of real offenders.
  8. Fiction is a safe way to explore horrifying or confusing concepts. Therapists agree that fiction, even (or especially) about taboo topics is a good coping mechanism, especially, but not exclusively, for trauma survivors. Fiction is to adults what play therapy is to children. This doesn't stop being true if the work in question is of a sexual nature.
  9. Sex isn't an inherently worse or better motivation than anything else. A work written to create feelings of arousal isn't dirty, shameful, or in any way less pure than works written to entertain, provoke moral questions, or for other reasons. And worth noting is that multiple purposes can exist in the same story, especially fanfiction.
  10. You aren't entitled to an explanation for why someone reads, writes, or otherwise enjoys certain works, kinks, tropes, ships, etc.

smut that is NOT tasteful. smut that IS like other smut. smut that does NOT exist to be an exploration of character. smut that IS designed to titillate. for that matter let's start calling it "pornography." I am tired of half-hearted defences of some types of pornographic writing in only some contexts. pornography is not inherently morally suspect because of its sexual nature.

Hey! I love your Erik/Shaw fics and the way that you explore their dynamic - I was wondering, have you ever considered an AU where Shaw is Erik's stepdad/adoptive dad? The way Shaw is played/written (so affable yet so awful) gives me like, perfect shitty stepdad vibes, and imo it would be an interesting extension of their canon dynamic (especially w Erik/Shaw still occurring)

Hi Anon! I'm sorry for taking so long to reply - RL has been crazy busy this week!

I HAVE actually given a lot of thought about an Erik/Shaw fic where Shaw is Erik's stepdad or adoptive dad. In fact I'm pretty sure I've posted a variation of that prompt in both the Rarepair and Kinkmeme fests but it's never been filled :( Guess I'll have to keep waiting and hoping...

(I would love to write it myself - I've thought about how interesting it might be to write a Lolita inspired story told from Shaw's POV, and really dig into Shaw as unreliable narrator and his obsessive, narcissistic vibes - except I already have like a dozen WIPs going and I really can't start another one lol).

Pregnant Charles Week Day 3: Historical/Medieval au (ABO)

what happens is that Charles’ pup arrives early and he has to give birth alone while his husband is at war, he’s inconsolable at first but everything is fine after Erik rushes from the battle and arrives right after the birth to be with his mate and meet their pup <3

Pregnant Charles Week Day 4: Hurt + Baby Trapping

a canon divergence pre-Apocalypse. Erik never marries Magda and instead keeps hooking up with Charles on and off. Charles is tired of Erik crawling back to him at night and then leaving before sunrise to go back to the Brotherhood. He gets pregnant on purpose hoping that this time Erik will realize he belongs with him at the mansion, yet this doesn’t change anything
