8/19/20XX, Valentine’s POV

“What do you mean it’s fucking stuck…!?” “Well you try to get it out!” “Hell nah!” Doe had us sneak out of the sleeping quarters just so she could get a candy bar from one of the old vending machines. And as soon as she tries to get a chocolate bar, it gets fucking stuck. The sickly yellow light of the vending machine is the only light on in the hallway, letting me see a frustrated scowl on her face. “Let me try to get something else then…” she reaches in her pocket to fish out another five dollar bill. I watch her face drop when she’s met with an empty pocket. “Shit, I forgot to bring more money…!” she then looked at me and said, “Do you mind running back and grabbing me a five?” was she fucking crazy??? “Hell nah! I’m not going back there- it’s scary and I haven’t taken my meds and I keep HEARING SHIT!!!!” I whisper-yell. “Jesus H…” she mumbles. We just stare at the stuck candy bar. She kicks the vending machine, making it rattle, and the bar moves a bit. Her faces lights up, and she continues lightly kicking the old metal junk, until the candy bar finally falls. “Well that was easy!” She reaches down and grabs the bar. She immediately rips open the wrapper and takes a big bite of the chocolate bar.
