OUAT Spot the Lie: Take Four
In order to keep things fair, the lie will be something that very much did NOT happen. There will be a few things I have to oversimplify for the sake of space (and comedy).
Have fun!

“I was in Monmouth battle and many others and received a wound in my face from a ball, the scar of which is still visible.” – Robert Green, veteran
Robert Green gave this testimony at the age of 65 when applying for a federal pension for his service. Green’s story embodies the courage and resilience of African American patriots during the Revolutionary War. Wounded at the Battle of Monmouth, Green’s journey is a testament to the sacrifices made for the liberties we cherish today.
We invite you to be a part of a monumental effort to bring these stories to light. By joining our Revolutionary War Veterans Transcription Project, you’re not just transcribing documents; you’re helping to preserve and honor the legacy of African American soldiers.
You can ensure their stories, their sacrifice, and their dreams are not forgotten. Dive into history, transcribe with us, and help make the legacy of heroes like Robert Green accessible for generations to come.
Happy anniversary!

Folks. Just sort of tossing this one out there with the appropriate tag and hoping.
Making a playlist for Gilda. It’s mostly vibes, I cannot lie. I have an anthology of comics on her husband, but it’s not the most recent and also doesn’t necessarily include her all that frequently, and that and this site are about the extent of my interaction with her. In related matters, I require quotes from her that could plausibly work as a playlist title. I will be looking through what I do have, but as I already suspect it won’t have much… anyone want to throw a few out there?
Life really does align in weird ways.
My bully from 5th grade who snapped my glasses in front of his friends just found me on social media a few weeks ago.
He wrote me a long apology saying how he was now a father to a 3 year old little girl and was taking her to get her first pair of little glasses in the next few days—and it brought back what he did. He said couldn’t ever handle the idea of someone doing that to her.
My first instinct was to tell him to get lost, but I realized I was getting what I always prayed for. I just wanted the people who were mean to me to eventually understand it—even if it took a personal experience to relate to and 14 years to open their eyes.
A piece of me healed in that moment as I gave him glasses advice for his daughter because I was the same age when I got my first pair.
Kids are really ruthless, but it takes a healed adult to reach out to apologize. And there is always time to change; it’s never too late.
alicent refusing to refer to aemond's crimes with actual words… opting out by saying "you know what he is" over and over again; because saying it outright will only make it more real for her. the religious guilt of having raised a kinslayer. is this really her sweet boy whose eye they have taken? no… it can't be, she tells herself. i wonder if she lies awake at night thinking what she has done wrong. where exactly it went wrong.
