SAVE PALESTINE

world's goin down the gutter. tlou 2 sucked. war is always on the horizon. capitalism running rampant. climate still changing. this is where i say 'that's all folks.' at least we had memes.

Save Palestine. Save Palestinians.

What the Israeli govt has just ordered is going to lead to genocide and eradication of an entire group of people where almost 50% of their population is children. No water, no food, no electricity, all of which Israel controls. Where are helpless 2 million Palestinians supposed to go my god.

For decades they have to watch and experience their land being illegally settled on without being able to stand up for themselves. They attempt to peacefully protest and the idf shoots them instead. Now, even in the West, people are being publically punished by their respective govts. for showing even the slightest bit of support.

What option is left for them?

Ppl on this hellsite calling Gabbard an Assad apologist immediately get blocked. There are genuine criticisms of hers to be made regarding policy but if you do the Clinton smear of her by calling her a Russian asset (without a fucking shred of evidence!) or dictator apologist you are part of the problem

#FYI I DESPISE TULSI NOW AFTER HER RIGHT WING HEEL TURN#THE OTHER COMMENTS ARE FROM 2019#i think im done with this hellsite#i was holding out hope that at least ppl on tumblr would give a shit about progressive values#and care about things like cc and calling out american imperialism#and candidates funded by billionaires#like daphne said#there are many criticisms to be made about tulsi#like her domestic policies arent that great#and wtf is she going to do about cc#but calling her an apologist for dictators is just fucking gross#when all she wants to do is end the forever wars and talk diplomacy rather than engage aggressively#i thought at least tumblr would have abandoned the era of clinton politics and realise the fundemental change that is required for society#but the number of ppl ive seen in the democratic debate tag shilling for establishment candidates#like buttigieg fills me up with dread#that at the end of the day if ppl are this uninformed that they are willing to risk their futures on a candidate with a problematic past#rather than a candidate who has been consistent their whole life then honestly i have no hope#left#im just wasting my time here#nobody gives a shit#and the ppl that do are paying attention to the wrong things#i thought i could make a difference re: the most important election of our lifetime#but if there are ppl out there that still think that warren or buttigieg or ppl like fucking h a r r i s  are better candidates than bernie#then im just wasting my time#politics for ts#election 2020

Who are the biggest polluters in the world? This question is often shrouded in mystery, but @guardian has written an exceptional series on the 20 biggest polluters on the planet, their impacts, and who owns them. ⁣ ⁣ Needless to say, the biggest polluters are primarily oil and gas companies. According to Guardian’s 9 October article, these 20 companies have knowingly produced about 35% of all greenhouse gas emissions from 1965 to 2017. The Guardian uses the year 1965 because that is when the oil companies became aware that burning fossil fuels was directly correlated to climate change. There is a paper trail indicating they knew the climate would start to destabilize around the year 2000. ⁣ ⁣ Another Guardian article examines how just 100 companies are responsible for 71% of all global emissions. Digging deeper, these same powerful companies have successfully diverted blame to the consumers (us) for the problem, without taking any responsibility for the part they play. It’s true that our individual choices matter. A recent study found that 72% of global greenhouse gas emissions comes from household decisions, such as personal vehicles, meat-based diets, housing, and heating and cooling. ⁣ ⁣ This doesn’t exonerate the biggest polluters in the world, many of which are investor-owned (some are owned by governments). These global conglomerates have known for decades the disaster that awaits us. Yet the oil executives continue to disseminate false information and promote climate change denialism, while they reap record profits, and the planet smothers and drowns. Our political systems have failed to stop it. ⁣ ⁣ So what can we do to stop it? Listed are 13 things we can do as individuals to help. The number one thing we can do is VOTE. Did you know that environmentalists don’t typically vote? Given the crisis we face, it’s all hands on deck at this point. If you are an environmentalist and if you live in a democracy, please vote and donate to politicians who will fight climate change and pollution.⁣ ⁣ See the other 12 things we can do to help stop the oncoming crisis.⁣
