Comforting Gideon Gemstone
Gideon Gemstone x reader (no gender specified)
You met Gideon a few months ago on set when you were fixing some camera issues their team was having. Gideon had helped you find where you were going when you had first got there. The first thing you noticed about him were his sweet blue eyes and his boyish smile. Throughout that day he made sure to come up to you in case you needed help or had any questions and you could tell he had a good heart. At the end of the day, both of you were talking when his friend came up and introduced himself as Scotty.
It’s been six months since your first interaction with the two before meeting Scotty’s girlfriend, Lucy. You liked her but you thought she was a bit weird and a little too crass but it was okay as long as you had another girl.
If you hadn’t decided to help fix the cameras that day, you’d have never met him, but you’d also not be in this position.
Apparently Gideon’s father brought along his siblings to help before Scotty started yelling behind his mask for everyone to get out. Scotty ended up getting out after Gideon’s dad wouldn’t listen, (not too big of a surprise according to Gideon) to hand him the harddrive and to take the money, but when Scotty got too mouthy Jesse attacked him before taking the money and running over him in the process on accident.
“Lucy come on don’t get out there’s no point!” You try to plead with her as you just want to get the fuck out of the crime scene you’re all apart of. Lucy didn’t care and went out to go help her boyfriend.
That’s how all four of you were seated in a dingy ass hotel room eating lukewarm Chinese food from across the street. You had decided to get your own room as you had the funds and you didn’t really want to stay with Scotty and Lucy. Obviously you offered Gideon to stay with you which didn’t take too much convincing but you could tell something was wrong. You tried to make him laugh, smile, or do anything that would make him happy which only ended in failure.
“You know, I’ve known you for a few months now so I know when something’s wrong Gideon.” You state with an underlying compassion you didn’t mean to speak with. You notice his cheeks get darker from where he sits on the bed next to you and he avoids eye contact.
“Y/N, I feel like this might not be too good of an idea. Shit, I mean I wanted to see my dad go through what I did, but that’s still my family..” he spoke quietly, only looking you in your eyes at the end of his sentence.
“It’s not too late to leave, you know I’d go with you.” You whisper back to him, hopefully comforting him and leading him to make the successful choice.
“I know, but Scotty’s my friend I guess, and he already threatened to kill me if I didn’t get his money.” He laughs at the end of the sentence, not fully believing him. You end up laughing with him for a while and it feels like a weight has been lifted off your chest. Gideon seemed to be in a better mood and it calmed you down knowing your friend wasn’t upset anymore.
You and Gideon are on the singular bed in the room watching a show that he was interested in but made no sense to you. You and Gideon stay up after the show, talking about anything. Childhood, future wishes, family, honestly anything that came to mind was talked about. You noticed yourself starting to grow more and more tired, so you decide to bite the bullet and rest your head on his shoulder. You feel him tense up before relaxing fully. He smells like laundry, cologne and a little bit like the hospital. It’s the best thing you’ve smelt in a while and it helps lull you to sleep.
You’re in a half dream state, awake but not fully when you hear him for the last time that night.
“Goodnight Y/N, we’ll leave together soon.” It’s spoken in a quiet whisper that makes your heart flutter in your chest before he leans down to give your forehead a gentle kiss.
