the sharp sounds of the spoon scraping against the bottom of the dessert dish drew you away from eric’s name that lit up your screen. changmin quickly shovelled the final mouthful of cake before placing the spoon down with a clatter and leaning back in his chair, hands pressed against his stomach.
the dramatic puff of air he let out left you in strings of giggles. and the smile that tweaked at the corner of his lips left your chest in flutters.
“it wouldn’t be a party if we didn’t turn up fashionably late with our bellies full of cake now, would it?” he quipped, throwing a wink in your direction as he reached for the remaining whipped cream that rested on the edge of the bowl.
“you aren’t wrong,” you couldn’t stop smiling. “parties are no fun unless you’re fuelled by sugar.”
