Oh boy they are a really close family.
I'm giving Nautalie a small redo but nothing about how they get along with their family changes really.
Coeleen loooooves her parents, her love for the sea and bones leads to her getting really well with both of them. She could never imagine why anyone would find all of their info dumps boring.
Shelly sees a lot of herself on her and is happy to see that other toons do like having her around, deep inside her she hopes that Coeleen never experiences the feeling of being ignored.
Finn is proud of how knowledgeable of the sea his precious coelacanth is! Whenever she comes back with small treasures from swimming he and Shelly always take time to hear her yap about all the precious things she found. If she is happy then he is happy!
(Tho he sometimes worries of where she learns some of the really disturbing facts)
Nautalie appears to be somewhat different from their family at first glance, they love to surf and seem to not have any big sea or fossil related obsessions at first. While his family is filled with yappers they are more of the listener, but if you let them talk they WILL never stop yapping about their favorite hobby.
Since they are the owner of a thriving seamonkey colony they tend to tell their dad about anything notorious that might happen with it, they know their dad is knowledgeable about sea creatures so they know it will be a nice way to start a conversation.
Nautalie loves collecting and making lures, it was a hobby that started thanks to Finn taking them to fish. Finn likes to joke that Nautalie's love for lures means that those little things are doing their job perfectly.
Since making them is such an intricate thing to do it means that they put a lot of patience and time on it, they enjoy spending time making them with Shelly while she is cleaning fossils.
Shelly and Nautalie will talk about what kind of lure they are making, and what kind of fossil she is cleaning. Shelly is happy to have another person to spend the time together, and Nautalie enjoys having something fun to do alongside their mom.
Coeleen and Nautalie are the closest to their parents, they would never in a hundred years choose to not spend time with them, why would they? It would be silly to throw away happiness.

Katy is a lil creature for sure.
She seems to pick up hobbies wherever she goes, but the one that has stuck out has been knitting and crocheting as of lately.
I didn't really put it on her reference but she likes collecting pins, more specifically bug pins.
She started making things with her silk to have something to put her precious pins on.
Gigi would do anything to make her daughter happy so she might or might not snatch a few pretty pins for her.
Right now Katy is young and doesn't really know that her mom is stealing some pins for her, since Gigi says she "borrowed" them for a long time she is oblivious to the truth.
Flutter adores Katy, she is happy to see her trying out different hobbies and being able to express herself happily.
Both are really supportive moms and encourage Katy on whatever thing she might be trying out, the last thing they want is Katy feeling like she can't really be herself.

Both of them are really passionate on collecting/knowing about their niche interest.
Coeleen being disturbing facts of sea creatures and collecting bones while Jeanne is movies in general.
Instead of finding enthusiasm to have someone who has a special interest just like them (kinda like Shelly with Finn) they instead dislike eachother, they think the other one is a smarty-pants and tries to appear "soooo smart and unique" with their knowledge.
I also did it cuz as someone who is autistics nd hyperfixates a lot, I have met ppl who have disliked me just because I liked something and knew all about it. I'm dead serious.

Despite what many may think he is actually a good dad.
He still acts hateful but he seems to have developed a somewhat soft spot for his kids.
I say somewhat since to the ordinary toon it may look like he is acting the same but to the ppl who know him it's a very obvious change.
Since they are his kids he often makes remarks about how they are better than the other kids at everything, the fact that one is a famous actor and the other is a luchadora only prove his point in his opinion.
He would hear others talking about how their kids been doing and he would brag about things his kids have done.
They are his kids so that automatically makes them better than the rest of the kids after all.
He also trained each one of his kids to be able to fight anyone and win, and this also led to the main inspiration of Canapette on becoming a luchadora.
(Since canon shrimpo seems to do boxing based on the punching bags on his room I decided to also give him the interest in lucha libre since I like to HC him as Mexican)
Now, I have gotten some questions on TikTok of his opinion on Dulse being the opposite of him.
In my humble opinion, Dulse is something complicated to Shrimpo.
Prawnna has always been confident and elegant, and Canapette is energetic and loud.
But Dulse is shy and sensitive, the compete opposite of him and Teagan.
So he struggles with trying to not make his kid feel unloved by him, because despite what anyone may take from his personality, he does love his kids.
He may be a complete hater at times, but he tries his best to be a good father.
(and the award to the most ooc ramble goes to codforsaken, you are free to throw tomatoes now)

Good question.
While I imagine them existing mainly in the cartoon world (and thus being born in a different way over there)
In the gameverse i personally imagine them being made by combining ichor of both parents.
If you mix 50/50 you get a kid that is a perfect mix of whatever object they are.
Examples being Prawnna, Coaleen and Nautalie.
But if the mix has more ichor of one parent than the other it makes the kid look more similar to that parent.
Examples
Canapette is 80% Shrimpo and 20% Teagan.
Dulse is the reverse 80% Teagan and 20% Shrimpo.
So most of the fankids are on the latter side.
The only exception is Jeanne, who was made putting ichor on an already existing object (a projector).
