we weren't told anything about the code of points or whatever

@comaneci / comaneci.tumblr.com

sam ◦ she/her ◦ adult ◦ professional hater ◦ i follow from @arduennas

just saw leaks for dance moms a new era season TWO ??? now tell me how that shit got renewed

i am generally a good form enjoyer but for some reason sabrina voinea has quickly become a blorbo to me. yes every piece of gymnastics she does looks horrible but there’s something so audacious about it that i simply have to stan

the isu is afraid to legalize same-gender ice dance because the discipline would immediately become 95% f/f. what they don’t understand is that this would increase the popularity of ice dance by 500000%

(I know this is something I could probably easily find out for myself with maybe 5 clicks of surfing the World Wide Web but let me be lazy shush)

So this mixed event. How does it like…. Work? From what I’ve understood passively from twitter discourse it’s just 2 individuals, one MAG one WAG? Is it an AA competition for both? Is there any consideration for how MAG has 6 events vs WAG’s 4 and how that makes it almost a “weighted” total score?

I saw a tweets 2 minutes ago that says that at euros it will be VT/BB/FX for WAG and FX/PB/HB for MAG. I could probably easily check the source for that but I'm also lazy so

Love PB and HB for men’s but they should totally just slap pommels in there too for the hell of it. Quintessential men’s gymnastics tbh. I also think men’s vault is much more exciting than womens.

I’d like to see UB/BB for WAG AND PB/HB with VT or PH for MAG.

i choose to believe the ioc added the mixed event to give ou yushan a chance at her olympic medal

all my brilliant ideas for a better code of points have been thwarted due to my inability to make a google sheets format that works to my liking. i blame this on donatella sacchi

"Russian athletes competing in artistic and rhythmic gymnastics have decided to refrain from participating in the upcoming competitions under the auspices of the International Gymnastics Federation (FIG), the Russian Gymnastics Federation (RGF) reported on its Telegram channel. sport.ria.ru "The reason for this decision is the numerous unfounded and biased refusals by the FIG special committee to allow our gymnasts to compete. The Russian Gymnastics Federation respects and shares the athletes' position," the statement reads."

Alysa Liu (USA): 2025 World Championships

Returning from a two-year retirement, Alysa Liu concludes her comeback season as the 2025 World Champion, scoring her personal best scores in international competition! She is the first US woman to win the title in 19 years, since Kimmie Meissner in 2006. She now enters the Olympic season as the defending World champion. 🥇

"If there was no one on Earth, I would still skate. As long as there’s music and as long as there’s ice and our skates, I would still do it." - Alysa Liu, on her renewed love for the sport

it's so obvious the isu is striving for a tiktok-ification of fs (as with the legal backflips) where they really want it to Go Viral. what they don't get is that the children yearn for the tango. the children yearn for the foxtrot!!
