unless they specifically asked, you don’t get to tell a fanfic writer you think they mischaracterized the character by the way. because the second someone writes a fanfic about a character, that character becomes the writer’s own version of the character. canon is only a suggestion, but whether or not an author will follow it / how much of canon an author will take is entirely up to them. you don’t get to stick your nose in their world and tell them “hey this is not to my liking therefore I think you’re doing it wrong” when you can simply leave quietly and move on to something else you may enjoy

Bishop torchie ideas if anybody gaf:
-Captured post Paladin strait.
-Very brainwashed. Forgets things a lot, often confused and doesn't really know where he is.
-The bishops somehow took his ability to guide. Torchie feels so empty.
-Still blind despite his guiding being stolen.
-The banditos took a while to save him. He got worse and worse everyday. When they did save him he barely knew who he was and who they were.
-Never forgot Clancy but was told he's a traitor. Confused him how he could think of a traitor so fondly. Wishes clancy would return to vialism (and him)
-Smeared around his eyes (there's some symbolism about how u can never truly see someone's struggles but I'm too tired to think about that in depth)
-Pretty Bishop. Not crusty.
-Yellow eyes.
-The bishops r transphobic so he's constantly misgendered. The don't remember his deadname so they just call him Bishop Torch as a fuck you to the banditos.
-The bishops keep him away from fire. He's cold and weak.
-Doesn't talk.
-When (if) the banditos eventually do save him, he tries to leave in the middle of the night. When Clancy stops him he cries that he just wants to go home. He's so brainwashed... Poor puppy. 💔💔
-Begs Clancy to convert to vialism and come to the city with him.
-Panic attacks are even more frequent, has them multiple times a day, everyday.
-Smoking a pack a day. The confusion stresses him out and the shaking is so much worse.
-Basically the worst version of himself. Confused, mean, tired, all those terrible feelings.
-Depersonalisation.
