there is something so heartbreaking after moving out of your childhood home and the first time you go back to that house. That’s heartbreaking.

walking inside greeting your family dogs you no longer have curled around you when you sleep, you parents moved the silverware drawer why would they do that? Oh a new couch that’s going to take time getting adjusted too. Your bedroom is turned into a closet. You no longer have a bed there is no longer space for you. They stop buying your favorite snack you were the only one that ate it so it makes sense but why would they do that?

itching out of my skin to be back in that bedroom covered in paint I did when I thought the world was ending at the age of 15. My new apartment is riddled with responsibilities and adulthood. Having to remember to send rent the first of the month and what day trash goes out wasn’t in my thoughts when I was a kid dreaming of my first apartment. What I would give for a snow day to surround myself with my parents scent in their bed with their too large fans and too many dogs and to go back to sleep. Where rent and trash day don’t exist.

I miss home.

very strange phenomenon now that many people have learned online not to pet service dogs is that they walk by little bird and me, wave their hands at little bird, and say in a baby voice "oooohh you're so cute! you're so cute! i'm not going to pet you because i know you're working! ooohhhh puppy puppy puppy, i want to pet you but i'm not allowed~" and i have to tell them what they're doing is literally as distracting as petting her. this happens almost every single time i'm out with her.

Spread this shit, it’s terrifying and not everybody knows how bad it really is, this is fucked up and it’s also real, all of us need to know and have a right to know, they are already trying to make things seem “not as bad” as they are and make him seem like a “good guy” and a “savior” don’t fall for any of his bullshit. He wants to be a dictator and doesn’t care about who he hurts in the process.

reminders for today:

  • if you or someone you know might need it in the next few years, purchase plan b. the shelf life of plan b is 4 years, and we might not be able to access it as easily as we can now in the days ahead.
  • if you are larger/plus size: go online and purchase ella instead of plan b. plan b is less effective if you aren’t under 160 pounds.
  • if you can, purchase books that project 2025 is looking to ban.
  • mass deportations are starting. if you see ice vehicles or agents, yell ice raid and la migra as loud as you can.
  • if someone asks who you voted for, keep your mouth shut. they’re fishing for traitors.
  • if anyone, anyone at all asks about your neighbors or their legal status in the us, you know nothing. don’t be the reason that their family is separated.
  • if anyone asks about your religion or lack thereof, keep it vague. this administration will look for any excuse to persecute you.
  • your friends are trans or queer? for the next four years they’re not. don’t expose anyone’s status as a trans or queer person to anyone else, even if you think you can trust them.
  • did someone you know get an abortion? no, they didn’t. they were never pregnant.
  • in short, don’t be a snitch, and keep to yourself these next four years. we’ll make it through this even if it seems hopeless at times.

we can survive this. we’ve survived before, and we’ll survive again.

Rant that I just need to GET OUT.

this is coming from a person that doesn’t mind spoilers AT ALL. I actually find it quite funny when some people will even go the lengths of out right refusing to consume media they’ve been spoiled.

Wanting to consume media about content you don’t want to be spoiled IS FINE I get it (not really you do you) what is NOT FINE are these people that ARE finding content WITH spoilers and blaming the creators. When it’s not their fault?? Even a little bit?

anyway what this rant is actually about specifically is books. Why every time I’m watching a review or vlog whatever whatever whatever on YouTube that is based around books these YouTubers have basically been bullied into technically only being “allowed” to talk about a book in vague subtext and feelings. No plot. No genre. Just vague opinion about an even vaguer book.

AND IT MAKES ME SO FUCKING FRUSTRATED

like why?? Books are expensive. Point blank. The investment of a bad book is different than a bad movie. Some people (ME) cannot take the risk of buying a very expensive book they (I) will not like.

Wanting book media to be spoiler free so badly you bully those creators to never even speaking about said book or actually am I talking about classism and elitism
