1 year after First Interaction (in the plot and irl).... 6 months after the merShiro abruptly stopped coming, Keith continues to wait. Why did he leave? And for how long must Keith wait?

Yes, I've been planning to make it a comic ever since the First Interaction! As I've mentioned on another post, I'm more active on IG and twitter. There I've asked my followers about stuff mershiro would do and just little things I could add to the next chapter. Believe it or not, this was supposed to be posted a week before winter 2020!!! But as I've said, my studies got too hard and I've had to focus on them instead. Thankfully, the only changes that had to be made were Keith's lines concerning the time (like "a year" instead of "a few months") as everything just fit the plot still!!! Anyhoo, yes think of this mermaid series like any other story or webtoon- it will have a climax and an end, but not anytime soon I promise! I have a lot to add still.

Oh no, most of those mermaid!shiro questions will be answered in the next chapter as I can't spoil the surprise 😉! Well, as I put in the captions, Keith has been waiting a year for shiro to come back. They've known each other for 6 months prior despite Shiro not being able to speak back (he can only manage trills but he does understand keith. Keith still continues to talk to him though! Keith loves to teach Shiro some human things like human food!) However, Shiro stopped coming abruptly and without reason. He's become too important to Keith that he's willing to wait as long as it takes.

Keith has waited everyday for a year, thus why he has obtained some freckles from the heat of the sun.

That's all I can say! More will be explained in the next chapter, but please dont expect it to be quick. I'll be quite busy in July, preparing for college, working on zines (collaborative), and creating other sheith pieces unrelated to this comic. Ashamed to self promo like this but please also consider following me on twitter and/or IG in case of an emergency hiatus update. I post much more often there, especially with updates, sneak peeks, and questions/polls!

Keith finds tears on the merman's face. He doesn't know the reason behind them... is it the sting of his wounds? Did he remember something bad? Is he missing his home or loved one? Keith decides not to push.

WAAAAAHHH Jesus, it's been so long since I last updated the script so I'll be going on about these from what I recall, love. And these are good questions! I think most of the answers, however, will NOT be explicitly stated on the comic, but some will.

On the first time Keith saw Shiro in the arena, Keith was being brought to the clinic/med bay. My initial plan was for Keith to have some form of physical damage, whether it be broken bone or head wounds, but the plot stays the same whether or not that plan stayed in the script. He was brought to the med bay since the galra for a physical test. The following part won't be stated in the comic, I think (or I could change my mind? Not sure yet), but the galra like to make sure a prisoner is properly separated into the technicians (like Sam was) or gladiators (like Shiro was). Ulaz, even though he's a doctor, was taking him away (on both times) because he was to be brought to the med bay. There are other reasons for this, and though they aren't that climactic, they are spoilers so I won't tell you now ;)

Keith had only gone to the arena a few times (also not stated int he comic), but this was when the galra expected Shiro to die in the first 5 or so games that he played in the arena (not yet Myzax, but leading up to that, and also not at the same time as Matt). Soon, the galra limited the prisoners in line at the arena since Shiro took to long to die and eventually became a rising player.

About the "awful psychology"? I might genuinely add that to the plot, though that would torture my followers ahahahah. It would be interesting if the galra wanted to know how the earthlings' brain works when put under severe emotional distress *evil smile*

Keith is not aware of his galra side yet, but Ulaz has been aware as he has witnessed it multiple times in the sidelines. Ulaz has never told Keith or anyone for that matter.

WAAAAHH HIII, BACK FROM HIATUS

HEY GUYS! I'm so sorry once more for not posting in too many months! I've posted updates on twitter and Instagram. where I'm much more active, about my hiatus. I stopped posting because my senior year of HS was getting too hard and I had to stop drawing and focus on my studies. But YAYYYY I graduated (and was in the TOP 10 Highest GPA of my school)! This month, I was also preparing for college, as I will be going to uni in the fall.

Holy crap I’m alive-- anyway, PART 7 IS OUT AFTER 87 YEARS! WE’RE REACHING THE CLIMAX!

Let me explain why I was gone-- I’m currently a junior in high school, and where I am, that’s the most difficult and stressful year. I had so many projects and presentations, and I even won a couple awards for that! I’m also more active on Instagram, and I post updates and sneak peeks there. So even if I don’t post for a while, I’m usually there. But yeah, I wasn’t sick or anything (at a point, I did get a little bit sick because of stress and overworking myself, so TAKE CARE OF YOURSELVES GUYS PLEASE)

I also turned 17 a week ago! Yay!
