its all 'be gay do crime' until a black person starts making allusions to drugs or sex or god forbid VIOLENCE and then it turns out nobody can handle anything more hardcore than downloading illegal torrents of hamilton

This post is about racism. This post is about racism and antiblackness. This post is not about how cool YOU are for doing crimes or about how much you hate 'antis' or how bad tesla suck. This post is about how ostensibly progressive white people will clutch pearls and moralize about not listening to rap or engaging with black art or culture because it seemingly condones drugs, or violence, or is overly sexual, while having no issue with those topics in other, non-black contexts. There are conversations to be had about the topics surrounding this but in the meantime the original post is One Sentence and I'm not convinced most of the commenters in the past few days even read it.

Hey I believe in tme/tma. if you think this makes me a trans radfem, not only should you unfollow and block me, you need to stay the fuck away from other trans women too.

Honestly if you label any trans woman talking about transmisogyny at all, a trans radfem, unless she explicitly identifies as a trans radfem you are being transmisogynistic and actively unsafe for transfems to be around.

The Construct of the transradfem is increasingly transmisogynist. if you suggest that using tma/tme leads to grooming, you are disgustingly transmisogynistic.

Rad feminism is a specific ideology, with specific political goals.

Even the most militant transfem separatist is theorizing about a safe space for transfems that does not currently exist- Transfems as a political group do not hold the power to create such a space and the fight currently is for transfem inclusion in spaces that currently violently exclude us- and to compare that movement with Terfs, a political ideology that actively seeks and exerts constant political pressure to exclude trans people from the safe spaces that have already been constructed, One that is succeeding and actively influencing policy, is an obvious spit in the face of transfems.

The transradfem is a transmisogynist construct first and always.

Transmisogynists, and the general public do not take transfems seriously- They do not take transmisogyny to the be the violent oppression it is- and the typical person's response to transfems bringing it up is take the position that said transfem is complaining about minor issues in an attempt to center herself.

it is so plain to the trans women that are being constructed as privileged entitled members of the community with an outsized need to make it about themselves that that is what is happening- and the denial of that pattern is a reinforcement of the behavior in transmisogynists.

I won't pretend that there aren't transfems being rude- transfems being condescending and bitchy- transfems discussing and theorizing about transmisogyny in ways that exclude and do not cater to transmascs. Why are they not allowed that? Why the fuck do you have a problem with transfems focusing on their own issues???

TME people constantly misunderstand what that (tme) means, what transmisogyny is, and assert they face it too- Correctly asserting that they are not 100% exempt from Transmisogyny- and taking it to the logical end, that that incidental transmisogyny they face is the same as the systematic and structural transmisogyny Transfems face.

I don't have to know exactly what they experienced to know that they are uneducated and have an incomplete and dismissive construct of what Transmisogyny is- just based on the way they speak about it. That is a completely reasonable assertion, and one that is fair for all transfems to make.

Be honest. have you done explicit direct work to both acknowledge and address your transmisogynist bias? if not you can consider yourself uneducated and your opinions of transmisogyny are beyond meaningless, they in fact will be biased and bigoted. always.

if your response to being called on transmisogyny is to think the transfem is asserting it to play a game of oppression olympics, instead of actually considering how your words affect her first, You are playing directly into your transmisogynist bias to believe the transfem has ulterior motives.

too many ppl who know nothing about Filipino folklore n culture r talking shit about my ate. she’s based off of the manananggal, which you can compare to the European vampire, if that helps you understand it better. although, i’m reluctant to mention that becuz some ppl, who choose to be ignorant, currently hold the view that she’s just an Asian-colored vampire mishmash monster. she is not. other than the fact that she manages to exist at all, here are some details i appreciate about her.

first, she has a face that looks like my family’s. that’s my lola’s nose. that’s my mom’s birthmark. shit, those are my uncle’s cheekbones. the headpiece features jasmine, our national flower. the translucent petals are cool.

second, you can display her in two pieces, split by the torso. its not just a β€œcheap gimmick” you ignorant pos. at nightfall, the manananggal severs itself in two, leaving behind a vulnerable lower half while its upper half hunts for nourishment - blood, raw hearts, livers, fetuses. the red fringe represents her dangling intestines, hanging loose as she flies after ripping her body apart. the string detail is on the skirt for consistency, but also, intestines are long as fuck? why wouldn’t they also hang from the bottom, assuming they also get split in half.

while we’re on the outfit, the top is an extremely traditional (Spanish colonial, ugh) style in both fabric and shape. i have attire that looks exactly like it, minus the monster high red foil pattern. the tiny, β€œwoven” sleeve cuffs are a nice touch. the earrings and bracelets look to be woven palm too, but aren’t as effective in plastic. the bottom half skirt is quite a bit shorter than is traditional, and the heels higher. it’s a monster high doll.

most accurate would be barefoot, tbh. but you guys would riot, and again, its a doll. actually, the shoes reference a lot from Filipino culture. the heel is a coconut tree overlooking a kubo, a one-room stilt hut built with natural materials such as bamboo and palm, and specifically made to be remade as necessary. the sole is β€œwooden”, also an accessible material of which some shoes were made with. it is attached by braid to what looks to be a straw strap. also not unusual for a shoe.

her fan and wings feature embroidery, and if you look closely at the latter, you will see a thin and delicate flora design in between the spider web pattern. this is extremely reminiscent of calado, a type of traditional hand embroidery akin to lace that is difficult as fuck. a dying art, btw.

i didn’t wake up looking to ride this hard for a plastic woman lmao. but if you’re gonna come for her, it better be because of the fluorescent green in her colorway and not because you don’t know what you’re talking about. honestly, a lot of Filipinos are just happy to be considered and celebrated. β€œwins” like this mean everything. maybe it’s not good enough for your collection, but now you know more about my culture than you would’ve gone out of your way to. and that’s good enough for me.

The shoes aren't just another example of MH object heels--it's a kind of shoe called bakyΓ’, with elaborately carved heels, that reached its peak popularity in the Philippines in the mid 20th century

(I knew about them from general interest in vintage fashion)

We all knew this was coming and I'm 100% going to be throwing this in the face of everyone who told me I was fearmongering or over exaggerating during the 2024 election.

This has been the goal of the electoral right for 70 years. Desegregation was literally the thing that caused the Evangelical Right to form.

And notice how this was a footnote in an executive order about "gender ideology," almost like bigotries are all connected and they're going to use attacking "gender ideology" as a Trojan Horse to jam through recinding all civil rights since a lot of y'all just decided trans people aren't worth fighting for.

And this shit is going to just keep rolling back.

There are still laws in place that make segregation illegal at federal and state levels, but it's foreboding.

A new national day of protest is set to sweep across all 50 states on Saturday, April 5, with demonstrations organized under the banner "Hands Off" targeting threats to democracy, bodily autonomy, and climate justice. Organizers say the protests are a direct response to figures like President Donald Trump and tech billionaire Elon Musk, accusing them of undermining key democratic principles and freedoms.

"Donald Trump and Elon Musk think this country belongs to them. They’re grabbing everything they can, and it’s up to us to push back. On April 5th, we’ll take to the streets with a clear message: Hands off!" ~ ThirdAct.org

A map published by the event's website, HandsOff2025.com, shows protests stretching from Anchorage, Alaska, to Miami, Florida. Some of the largest gatherings are expected in cities like Washington, D.C., San Francisco, and Philadelphia, while smaller events are planned for college campuses and public squares nationwide.

"Across the country, grassroots activists, workers, community leaders and everyday people are coming together to say that it's time for billionaires and extreme lawmakers to take their hands off our healthcare, our wages, our safety, and our rights," the spokesperson said. "Trump and his billionaire allies are openly planning a power grab to roll back our rights, strip workers of protections, and dismantle the foundations of democracy in service of tax breaks for the wealthy and corporations. The stakes couldn't be higher."
