— FIRECRACKER is the little sister of warren rojas, who comes down to L.A. to see her big brother for the first time in two years — only to then be enthralled with the life of being on the strip, and in the arms of billy dunne.

slowly, firecracker struggles with her identity rather than being just billy’s girl (sometimes) and has to find her way to be her own once again. and sometimes she’s glad she has billy by her side (the keyword here is sometimes) but at least she can always count on her best friend (with benefits) daisy jones!

aurora — the hunger games .𖥔 ݁

— AURORA is the victor of the 66th hunger games at 15 years old, and due to how she wasn’t even gambled to make it to the final two, let alone the victor, it’s safe to say she wasn’t entirely popular with those in the capitol. and after her parents’ tragic murder in the same way she used to win — aurora now has to make her way through the world, while also dealing with the trauma of being a victor.

enter finnick odair. who becomes her mentor away from blight. and slowly, becomes the love of her life, the one that she’d die for. even if it meant dying in his arms, or not having him at all after tragic events in the arena.

— MARIGOLD is your typical hippie girl in the 70s. she’s confident and most importantly, she loves gardening. even despite living in california her whole life, she finds plants more fascinating than anything else.

she supposed that’s why she has billy dunne wrapped around her finger, with how in love with her he is. perhaps her appreciation for other things while still being a supportive girlfriend makes her the perfect fit for a rockstar struggling with his own issues is what has him wrapped around her finger. whatever it is, the feeling is certainly mutual — for marigold is wrapped around billy dunne’s finger as well.

billy dunne. alcoholic, coke addict, on a downward spiral leading nowhere good.

you loved them both, at some point. back when the first version was the real version, when he was sweet and loved his music and loved you, when he spent hours awake writing songs instead of doing whatever substance he could get his hands on, or fucking his way through whatever city the band was stopped in. you’d loved him back in pittsburgh when you were just two stupid kids, and you’d loved him in la at the height of his career. you suspected he’d stopped truly loving you somewhere along the way, new york or nevada or whichever city you’d been in when he’d decided you were off the tour, sending you packing back to hazelwood.

Okay I can't stop thinking about the line in Mockingjay where Katniss notices that Finnick does not let go of Annie's hand after they're reunited

And she thinks it's because he is afraid to lose her again, which I'm sure is a significant factor

But I also. I can't. I can't stop thinking that

That this is the first time Finnick can hold her hand in public. The first time he can hold her hand where people will see them. Because he is finally no longer the Capitol's golden playboy. He can hold the hand of the woman he loves and it doesn't have to be a secret anymore. He can hold Annie's hand without that simple action putting both of them in danger.

And don't even get me started about their wedding being broadcast into the Capitol. Finnick Odair, famous for "going through four or five" "lovers" every time he is forced to return to the Capitol. Finnick Odair, who was repeatedly sold to the highest bidders, who had to act for the cameras - and even away from the cameras! - that he liked it, that he wanted it. Who could never even risk marrying the woman he loved in secret because of what would be done to her if he did.

Finnick Odair gets to hold Annie Cresta's hand without fear of who sees them. And Finnick Odair, the Capitol's golden slave, and Annie Cresta, the girl who went mad and only survived the Arena because she could swim, get to swear vows of love and fidelity in front of everyone. In front of the cameras they had up til then feared seeing any move they made. They are married in front of those same cameras. They kiss, and they dance, and it is celebrated.

And Finnick doesn't let go of her hand.

when an uptown girl meets a rockstar at a dive bar

no warnings for this story

You don’t even like live music. It’s too loud, too sweaty, too unpredictable.

But here you are, in the middle of a dive bar that smells like beer-soaked leather and regret, because your friend wanted a “real night out,” and you… well, you didn’t have the energy to argue. You’re still in your dress from dinner. The hem kisses your thighs when you sit, legs crossed, back straight, and comically overdressed for the battered booth. A few heads turn when you walk in, but it’s nothing new. You’re used to stares.

You’re not used to his.

He’s onstage. Worn denim, boots scuffed like they’ve lived through things he doesn’t talk about, guitar slung over his shoulder like it belongs there more than he does. The lights catch the sharp lines of his jaw, the loose curl of his hair, and the cigarette barely hanging from his lips before he pulls it out and tosses it aside. He looks like trouble. The kind that leaves bruises you like to press, just to remember.

And he’s looking right at you.

ok so i haven’t actually given much thought to how she and billy break up…BUT me and 🌿 anon did message each other a while back with how darlin and tadhg got together!!

and yes darlin and billy are endgame.

now she doesn’t break up with tadhg!!! she actually gets married with him!! but…he uh…gets the camila ending.

well we’re starting off strong🥰🥰

this is so billy core it’s insane. he knows that firecracker is the best person for him, that no one would be a better fit for him than her.

but even though he knew it took him years for him to know it. if you catch my drift.

meanwhile firecracker knew from the day they slept together for the first time that it was them from day one. that they were meant to be together.

it was only until she was so emotionally exhausted from billy dunne™️ and his antics that it really sunk into billy that firecracker was the one for him.

and he feels horrible, to this day.

“So, I don’t blame you, if you want to bury me in your memory.”

whenever firecracker and billy argue, and it seems like it’s the end for real and they don’t talk for awhile, billy just mourns.

because whenever that happens, he just thinks he finally drove her away. and he feels so bad — but he also doesn’t want to bother her if she really is done.

so at the same time he’s struggling to crawl back to her or bother her. but most of the time he accepts what he’s done.

and he wouldn’t blame her if she was actually done with him — and was going to bury their relationship in memory instead of coming back.

“There’s some kind of burning inside me, it’s kept me from falling apart.”

while billy knows and doesn’t know it, whenever he has that burning feeling inside of him — it’s because of firecracker.

not the band, not the groupies, no, just firecracker.

i feel like that should be important, because firecracker is legitimately stopping him falling apart.

making him fall deeper into addiction.

and he does have firecracker to thank him for that, it’s just scary for him — being in love. which is probably why he’s the way he is, because everyone he’s loved seems to leave his life when he shows his love.

“And I don’t mean to make your heart blue, but could we be what we’re meant to be? I’m about to beg you, please.”

billy genuinely wants to be the one for firecracker, and he knows what he’s doing is shitty, he knows that.

but as said before, i see him being the way he is because everyone he’s loved has left him whenever he shows his love towards them. and he just can’t afford to lose that with firecracker.

not when she’s done so much for him — even if she doesn’t know that.

which is why he crawls back everytime, begging firecracker to give them another chance, to be what they’re meant to be.

he can’t lose her — not yet, not now, not ever.

billy dunne is reliant on firecracker, and he’s always determined to give them the relationship they needed, but he always somehow breaks it, but he can’t lose her. which is why he crawls back to her.

“‘Cause there is nobody better than you.”

scene. anyways, this is always billy saying those words that he knows.

that firecracker knows.

that the band knows.

hell, that even the groupies he sleeps with knows.

there’s nobody better for billy and his issues than firecracker — for she was the one that helps calm him, a constant in his life.

there’s nobody better than firecracker. and that’s just fact, and that’s the rule. be even the slightest bit rude to firecracker, billy will kick you out as soon as he knows.

because nobody is better than firecracker.

It had been months since you’d last seen Tadhg in person. Sure the late-night calls, the stolen conversations over the phone, and the quiet comfort he provided had become a part of your routine...but actually seeing him again was different.

The band had ended up at the same festival as him, and though you told herself it wasn’t a big deal, the moment you spotted him backstage, his hands tucked into the pockets of his worn-in jeans, your breath hitched just a little.

“Tadhg!” you greeted, and his face lit up in that slow, easy way of his.

“Hey, darlin’,” he drawled, stepping closer.

Tadhg’s taller than you remember. Or maybe you just forgot what it felt like to be looked at like this, like your someone worth looking at.

“So,” he drawls, that accent warming your chest in a way that you refuse to name. “I made you somethin’.”

You blink. “You- what?”

From his pocket, he pulls a small wooden figure. It was a tiny, perfectly carved wooden kitten, small enough to sit in your palm. The details were intricate, little ears, a curled tail, and even faint etchings where fur would be.

He holds it out to you with a small, almost sheepish smile. “Thought you might like it.”

You stare it.

And then...before you can stop it...you smile.

It’s small at first, but then your grinning, shaking your head as you reaches for it, your fingers brushing his as you take it carefully.

“Tadhg,” you breathe, turning it over in your palm, tracing the soft grooves. “You made this?”

He chuckles, rubbing the back of his neck. “Yeah. Been whittlin’ since I was a kid.”

You look up at him, expression somewhere between wonder and something else, something you don’t have the guts to acknowledge. “This is… I don’t even know what to say.”

“‘Thank you’ usually does the trick.”

You laugh. You really laugh, and for a moment, you forget about everything else.

About Billy.

About what this means.

You forget everything except the warmth in your chest, the weight of the small cat in your palm, and the way Tadhg is looking at you like you're the most important thing he’s ever seen.

You trace your fingers over the smooth wood, overwhelmed by the thoughtfulness. It was such a simple thing, and yet it felt like so much more.

Billy had never given you something like this.

Something that wasn’t flashy, wasn’t for show. Just something that said, I thought of you.

Your throat felt tight.

“I love it,” you whisper, looking up at him. “Really. Thank you.”

Tadhg’s lips quirked into that soft, knowing smile of his. “Good.”

Before you could say anything else, a voice cut through the moment.

“There you are,”

You turn quickly, tucking the little wooden kitten into your pocket like you’d been caught doing something you shouldn’t have done.

Billy’s eyes flickered between you and Tadhg. He didn’t say anything right away, but you could see the way his jaw tightened, the way his gaze lingered on the space between the two of you.

“You ready?” Billy asked, his voice firm.

You nod quickly, but before you began to follow him, you shot Tadhg one last look. A silent thank you.

He just nodded, like he understood.

Like he always did.
