I think Sonic is easy to fall in love. He has a lot of it to give, freely and without condition. The issue is that he is impossible to pin down, and he refuses to settle for even a moment.
He loves Tails in the way that brothers who cant imagine life without each other do
He loves Knuckles like how warriors that forever have each other backs love each other
He loves Amy- though not in the way she loves him, nor as much as she needs. No he loves her as one of his best friends, he loves the passion that she carries in every action
The way he loves Shadow is that of two beings that understand each other to a far greater degree than anyone else in the universe can understand them. Its the raw sort of love that comes from the soul.
He loves people. Loves them enough to save them and their world over and over and over again, no matter how many times he puts his own life in danger or gets hurt at the hands of others. He has so much love in his heart that he cannot possibly contain it
The only person he doesnt have love for is himself. And thats why he supplements it with overconfidence and a cocky smirk.
