The frogblr community has mysteriously disappeared with no notice or explanation. Reblog and add a frog to show @staff we need our community back!

I’ll go first.

Actual photo of @markscherz carrying the entire Frogblr community back from the void

(Photo of a Cryptobatrachus Egg Brooding Frog with tiny froglings on its back)

AHHHH Look at all the babies! ❤️ Itty froggy from my yard. Last summer I had an influx of frogs (YAY!!!), and I hope to make a little frog pond this summer for them (they were using an old kiddie pool). Please excuse the very dirty nails, I hate wearing gloves and love digging in the dirt.

In 2024, scientists discovered seven new species of frogs in Madagascar. Because the whistling sounds these species made resembled the sounds of communicators from the Star Trek universe, it was decided to name the species after the seven legendary captains: Boophis kirki, Boophis picardi, Boophis siskoi, Boophis janewayae, Boophis archeri, Boophis pikei, and Boophis burnhamae. [Source]

So, meet the Boophis kirki I needle-felted for this year's Winter Fandom Kombat! ✨

How has no one tagged the frog guy? @markscherz

AHHHHHH THIS IS THE BEST THING!!!! Thank you @eldar-of-zemlya!

YOU GUYS

BOOPHIS KIRKI WILL NOW LIVE IN MY OFFICE FOREVERRR!!

Thank you SOOO much, @eldar-of-zemlya!!

The good news: you get to pick your new soulmate! (You can define "soulmate" however you want: platonic/romantic/partners in crime/etc. But they will be in your life, constantly.)

The bad news: you don't get to pick where they come from.

Spin this wheel until you get a fandom with characters that you recognize. As soon as you do, stop. One of those people* is going to be a constant presence in your life, whether you like it or not. So choose wisely.

*broadly defined

Republicans let First Felon destroy America rather than pushback on Parkinson's research.

That is the level of abusive retaliation from a malignant narcissist we are dealing with.

This actually hurts my family even though I'm not American. I'm Canadian. My husband has Parkinson's. He's only 54. He's going for his DBS (Deep Brain Stimulation) surgery on the 23rd OF THIS MONTH. He was diagnosed when our youngest was on 2, that 2 year old is now 11 and has only known a world where dad has Parkinson's and can hardly function. The Neurosurgeon hopes that the DBS will help him be up to 75% better - which means being able to work again for the first time in almost 3 years. Still only part-time, but we'll take it!

Firing a leading researcher is not only ridiculous but so fucking cruel and irresponsible. I'm just waiting for them to kill MS research (I have MS - yes, we hit the fucking jackpot of chronic illness as a couple). I will say though - I'm incredibly grateful we live in Canada - my husband's surgery is 100% FREE. The only thing I have to worry about is where I'm going to stay as it's in a city an hour and a half away and money is very tight. Plus we just lost a tire and the donut spare went flat while I'm at work today. Can I just cry? No? Ok...I'm Gen X, I'm used to keeping it in.

  17. What are your character's thoughts on wearing costumes?
  18. Does your character have a favorite outfit?
  19. If your character had to get a tattoo what would it be?

Doing this as Kitalia modern BG3 AU version

👕Appearance

  1. What is your character's favorite physical trait they possess? Her eyes cause she knows they freak people out LOL (all black, like obsidian)
  2. What would your character wear if they were told they had to gussy up? ugh - some fancy smancy dress Astarion picked out for her or Raphael - they have taste, Kit cares not
  3. Is there something about your character's appearance that they would change if possible? She'd probably wish to look more like a normal elf. She's an earthy shade of green with dark and light green tones for hair
  4. Does your character have a favorite material they like to wear? She'd love wearing soft materials - like flannel
  5. What are your character's opinion on scars? They happen - it's life
  6. How much interest does your character take in trends? None at all
  7. Is there someone your character tries to look similar to? Nope
  8. Does your character have a physical trait that they're known for? Her freaky eyes lol
  9. What does your character smell like? Petrichor and trees/earth
  10. If your character could splurge on a particular garment, what would it be? Comfy shorts or pjs or yoga wear
  11. Is your character's favorite color a color they wear often? Even though she is technically shades of green, she still loves green and blues...and silvers...and oh that purple is cute...
  12. Has your character gone through major stylistic or physical changes? Yes, she went from homeless and just surviving, to having people who love her and some who want to see her styled properly LOL
  13. What is something your character would refuse to wear? Nothing I can think of...she has no concept of shame really, she'd walk around naked if she had to. She doesn't like being restrained though, so something that had a tight collar or chains might be a challenge for her
  14. Is there a style your character is afraid they can’t pull off? She doesn't see herself as attractive, so she doesn't think she really looks good in much or anything, but the others tell her she does so she goes with it.
  15. Would your character wear something someone else picked out for them? LOL she ALWAYS does. She has ZERO fashion sense, and has worn basically rags for decades.
  16. Is your character's appearance more telling or deceiving? Deceiving. She's petite, beautiful and looks like she follows all the trends because people dress her up in public. Basically, she's like a walking mannequin for whatever Astarion and Raphael think is fashionable unless she's having a non-showy day where she just slobs it out
  17. What are your character's thoughts on wearing costumes? FUN! Wait, like for sex or just for whatever...pfft - fun either way.
  18. Does your character have a favorite outfit? Comfy shorts and crop top she wear hanging out with her bestie

  3. What type of object is likely to catch your character's attention? A weapon, as in - why's that person have a weapon?
  4. Is there an item your character liked that they can’t get back?  Her sanity? I kid, I kid (sort of)...not really anything. She had nothing and even now, after being 'settled' for over a decade she's still doesn't really get attached to 'things'. People, yes, things, no
  5. Would your character ever try to haggle? She wouldn't know how
  6. What is something your character is proud to own? Again, she has nothing. Everything she 'has' she feels belongs to others who have bought them for her. Even her present day clothes. Except that pair of comfy shorts and crop top - she stole them herself fair and square.
  7. Does your character ever spend more than they have? Nope
  8. What would it take for your character to give up an item they really like? Not much
  9. Does your character prefer to give or receive gifts? 100% give - she LOVES the feeling she gets when people are happy because she gave them something.
  10. Is there a type of object your character doesn’t like? Anything resembling a cage
  11. What might an acquaintance think is a good gift for your character? Food - no joke, she's always hungry

  15. Would your character prefer something bought or made personally? Made personally
  16. Is your character willing to ask for things? NOPE, unless it's food. She'll always ask for food
  17. What is most important to your character when shopping? Just being with her people

🍽️Food and Drink

  1. What flavor would your character say their personality is? Spicy - all spicy LOL

  14. Does your character prefer restaurant food or home cooked food? Once she has a home, she loves home cooked. It feels extra special when someone cooks for her because she never really had that ever
  15. What food or drink does your character consider a treat? When she was alone - anything that didn't come from a dumpster was a treat. Now with friends, basically anything made for her is a treat. Something she didn't have to work for, fight for, look for, or hunt for.
  16. Is there a food texture your character doesn't like? Chewy foods like calamari that take forever to chew and swallow. More because of the time used to eat it

  19. What animal would your character say best represents them? Cat

🤝Community and Relationships

  1. Does your character prefer company or solitude when sick? Solitude - she doesn't want to be seen as a burden. Like a sick cat, she'll go off on her own to lick her wounds...often the ones who love her have to MAKE her rest and let them care for her. She will constantly apologize or be extremely quiet

  20. What would it take for your character to get into a fight? Someone looks at her bestie or found fam the wrong way, and she's ready to throw hands. Sneeze the wrong way in her direction and she'll fight you, but rarely fairly...

💓Mind, Body and Soul

  1. What is a habit your character has that others might find cute? Essentially making a night time 'nest'. After centuries of making a sort of nest to semi-sleep in while homeless (something she could be sort of comfortable in and protected), it's a habit that doesn't die. Once a bed, blankets, and pillows are introduced to her - holy hoping hells she absolutely piles them all around her. Her SO doesn't mind, mostly cause she usually includes them and they think it's an adorable carry over from that time.
  2. Are there particular sounds your character is fond of? She loves listening to the wind in the trees - the sound of the leaves rustling, animal noises as a backdrop. When she's married, she is genuinely fond of listening to her SO sing.

  13. How does your character relax? Curls up with her bestie or SO or both...or goes dancing. She loves dancing
  14. Is there a secret thing your character longs to hear? Yes, she'd love to know who her father's father was. He wasn't a sylvan elf like her grandmother was and no one can remember what he looked like. 2. Does your character have a secret hobby? She knows how to play multiple musical instruments. Has had various ones throughout her long life. Her favourite is the harp, which is obviously hard to do when you don't have a home. She'd visit local temples that had one to practice. Once she has a home, she still does that - she's not sure why.
  3. What is a talent your character wishes they had? Reading. She would never tell anyone. She's smart - knows basically every language in Faerun and others, but was never taught to read, only speak. She'll argue she doesn't need to read, but secretly wishes she could. It makes her feel very stupid that she can't.
  4. Is there an activity your character used to enjoy that they now dislike? Sleeping outside - I know I said she can and she'd prefer it over a hotel, but she LOVES her bed...

  14. What is your character’s opinion on cheating in games? Did the other player see it? No? It's all good
  15. How good is your character at following through on projects? Surprisingly pretty good. She's absolutely chaos about it, but she'll finish
  16. What’s an activity that reminds your character of someone else? I really don't know
  17. Does your character prefer music or silence? Music
  18. What is a topic your character wouldn't want to talk about? Her past, especially the times before her grandfather saved her.
