Summary: Vernon calls you late at night despite being exhausted, simply to see you. As you chat, he admires you, refusing to hang up until he falls asleep.

It’s the weekend and your day off. You were supposed to be on a date with your boyfriend, but instead, you’re hanging out with your friends. Why? Because Vernon—your boyfriend—is currently out of the country. It’s not unusual. Seventeen is thriving right now, and his schedule is packed.

Now, it’s Saturday night. You just got back from a fun evening out with your friends and finished taking a shower. Glancing at the clock, you note that it’s already 11 PM. He should be calling soon, you think, walking over to your dressing table to start your skincare routine.

Before you can reach for your toner, your phone’s ringtone blares through the quiet room. It buzzes against the bed, the name 'Vernon' glowing on the screen. Your heart leaps. Without hesitation, you grab your phone and answer.

Can I request one with Yoru and the reader always bashing each other when in front of other agents but when they are alone they both soften up to each our of the fear they will lose one another.

in front of others, it's always insults and disdain. however, behind closed doors, the two of you are really cute and intimate together. maybe it's your combined pride of not wanting to appear “soft” with each other in public that makes this contrast. maybe it's the thought of losing one another and creating a rift between the two of you if no affection is shown. maybe the scenario is worse, like if one of you got hurt and the only words exchanged are derisive and not true to his or your real feelings.
so in private, you grip each other for dear life, an act that both of you would pretend to be disgusted by in public, and whisper sweet nothings, both of you hoping that this is enough to not lose the other. the scene is quiet, loving, and hidden from the eyes and ears of protocol. when you return to being in plain sight, your hand is interlocked with his. pride is discarded, and there is nothing to lose.

Hello!!! :D I will literally take any excuse to write about Sova, so it was a pleasure to bring this to life. This man deserves a big hug, don’t you think?

Fade Out (Sova x Reader)

Prompt: Your stoic front cracks when Sova gets injured on a mission.

Word Count: 808

• Sova often reminded you of the Greek Titan Atlas - forever carrying the world on his shoulders.

• Despite his caring and positive demeanor, there was no mistaking that he was by far and away the hardest working person you knew.

• He would brush off your concerns with an effervescent smile and a cheerful greeting, but you knew it came at the expense of his own well-being.

• You hated that everyone seemed to assume he was fine all the time when he clearly wasn’t.

• Because most didn’t seem to be aware of the mental and physical tolls missions were taking on him, you found yourself not caring much about them in return. Why should you?

• Though you did feel less of an indifference toward Viper of all agents, perhaps because she understood.

• “He’s one man, and he’s exhausted.”

• But even in moments of extreme weakness, Sova never fails to comfort you when he really should be putting himself first.

• You just mean that much to him.
