A character can still be a great character without being a good person.

In fact, some of the best characters are terrible people.

Because a character’s worth should be based on how complex and interesting they are, not their morality if they were real.

Yes. A thousand times, yes.

$80 games. fucking eighty USD for a game that, to my knowledge, does not contain any new expensive chips or technology. to make matters worse, you're paying that much money for a cartridge that doesn't even have the game on it. you're paying $80 for a download code on a card that requires you to connect to the internet first in order to play the game you dropped nearly $100 on.

this was always going to be the logical end point of companies trying out $70 games. now they realise people will pay anything and it's definitely going to get worse from here. it's like 90's game prices but there's no special chips or production things that make the price of a cartridge even more expensive. you are paying $80 to ask for permission to play a game you bought lol.

to make it all so much more insulting the boxes are fucking ugly as hell too, looking like a super scuffed "greatest hits" type thing by default with the massive banner on the front taking up nearly 25% of the little box. literally what is the incentive to buy a $500 console and an $80 game with the same cuntless nothing minimal UI and designs as the last one. if there's any fairness left in the world this thing will be cracked wide open year one.

if watching sports counts as enjoying the sport, then watching video games counts as enjoying video games.

And literally a huge part of gaming has ALWAYS been the experience of sitting around together, watching one person in the group play while everyone else cheers, heckles, shrieks, and generally has a good time.

Instead of buying a full price Switch 2 at launch, you could instead buy 130.81 copies of Guilty Gear XX Accent Core Plus R for yourself and your 129.81 closest friends.

So about those prices

Game announcements aside.

Utterly insane prices. Needing to buy a new (and more expensive!) SD card because the old one is not compatible. Paywalling the ability to have your games ported to the Switch 2, on a per-game basis. Having to pay extra for physical games, with some physical games NOT EVEN BEING ON THE CART (with the game being used as a license check, and then needing to be downloaded)...

And on top of all of that, all UI is the exact fucking same, still no eShop music, and complete silence on themes.

Nintendo more or less ported an entire fucking console. I hate to be negative but what a letdown.
