Thinking about Haymitch Abernathy today. Thinking about how if I got reaped my birthday would be two days into training. Thinking about how my cousins is the day before. Thinking about all the kids who “celebrated” their birthdays in the arena. Thinking about how all the 18 year olds who would turn 19 right after reaping day, right after they were reaped, would feel. It isn’t fair, they were supposed to be safe, and none of it’s fair, none of these kids deserve to die, but it feels extra unfair that they might die on the day meant to celebrate how long they’ve lived so far
