OH SNAP

I was right

THE DECEPTICON MATRIX IS A THING IN THIS CONTINUITY

AND MEGATRON HAS IT O_O

This is the source of his Dark Side like power to influence minds and inflict psychic punishment on people when they're holding him in his gun mode

This is probably why using Megatron's arm has been affecting Optimus's mental state as well, the energies of the Matrix of Conquest are not mixing well with the Matrix of Leadership O.O;

Megatron's treatment of Starscream takes on an even darker and more tragic/awful aspect here

Megatron was exactly like Starscream once

Full of a desire to achieve great things, desperate to be important while living in a world that was slowly dying. Just like Starscream back when he was a humble scientist, all Megatron truly wanted was to feel like he mattered and to do something important. And tragically just like Starscream, he was warped and twisted by cruelty to become a monster

And Megatron's "lesson" here made him do the same thing to Starscream

The brutality that Dezimir put him through made Megatron ruthless, cold, brutal and willing to enslave others. Megatron put Starscream through much the same "trials" in the name of making him "Better" in his eyes

What he did to Starscream wasn't some passing cruelty or sadism on Megatron's part....he likely GENUINELY did think Starscream was a worthy second in command to him. And he thought that doing this to him would make him "Better" because of how much what he had been through warped him

“how did you get into writing” girl nobody gets into writing. writing shows up one day at your door and gets into you

That time Lex Luthor pretended to be his own Australian son

And pretended one of his ex-girlfriends as his mother

THIS MAN IS AS FUCKIN WEIRD AS HE IS BALD

I first learned about this bit of lore while reading Death of Superman as like an elementary schooler, a story where he's kinda just there with no context given whatsoever

I definitely remember being VERY CONFUZZLED as a kiddo as to why Lex Luthor was a bearded Australian redhead in some comics

If I remember right, I think I first actually encountered Lex Luthor II in the junior novelization of the Death of Superman.

It was a very weird experience for kid me.

The first time I learned about Clone Luthor was in an Elseworld story in which an alien empire conquered Earth, forcing the Justice League to go underground and wear cool leather jackets in retaliation. Luthor, in red headed bearded mode, acted as a collaborator with the aliens at first, but betrayed them, resulting in his public execution.

Apparently someone saved his brain and put it in a Metallo, so he ran around for the remainder of the story calling himself Metallex and looking like a terminator with a serious case of 90's arm:

I was very confused.

yeah, this is my pet knight, she's a rescue. i gave her a brief act of mercy and she followed me home and sat outside my door to guard me from intruders. she swore her undying allegiance to me in exchange for a gift of grace and now she sleeps at the foot of my bed and weeps when im late coming home. and yeah, she only eats wet food because she's a snob, also.
