You want to call your House rep now and tell them Trump needs to be impeached immediately for defying a Supreme Court order (re: Kilmar Abrego Garcia), which functionally voids our constitution and means no one in America has rights anymore.
I am not exaggerating.
As of now, anybody can be disappeared, no due process, no recourse. Trump is openly disregarding a Supreme Court order and says he’ll send US citizens to El Salvador.
This is not a drill.
Call your House rep and tell them they must impeach. Tell them if they cannot bring themselves to impeach, they must resign. A more open and shut case to impeach is not possible. Trump and his administration are saying openly, in public, that anybody can be kidnapped by ICE, even in error, and disappeared permanently.
Call your senators, too, and tell them to support impeachment (it goes to them once it passes a majority House vote).
wondering if i should make a mh sideblog but also i feel like it's tiring to maintain separate spaces when tumblr has such a convenient tagging system and also i don't like curating audiences that are only here for one specific piece of media bc it kills my investment in things so fast if people expect certain content from me......
ik not everyone gaf about the story in mhwilds but i'm now convinced that 100% of the people who keep insisting that "nata is annoying bc he begs you not to kill arkveld" simply did not read or engage with the story at all past jokes they saw on twitter because the whole point of his development is that he grows past that mindset 😭
ntm the way people still misinterpret why he relates to arkveld (which, granted the writing isn't always the cleanest but like -) and seem to completely miss the entire point of the keepers-guardians parallel
i know there are differing opinions on the guardians/constructs as a concept, but within the story of wilds, the guardians are introduced as creatures who are duty-bound, and unable to enjoy life to its fullest because they lack even the will to eat - and don't even know that such things are inherent to the experience of "being alive"
this is a pretty direct reflection of the keepers: duty-bound people who don't seek the outside world, living in their isolated village without even considering venturing outside of it - they even canonically try to mimic the appearance of guardian cocoons and we all joke about how bland the sild dish is because these people don't even know what cheese is and have never seen a spice in their lives
this is why nata is so angry when he learns of the concept of guardians, the fact that they don't even eat, that they're essentially locked into programmed behavior - they're alive but they don't live, and that's why he relates to arkveld, who left the confines of wyveria and learned to live ("this is the first thing it ever decided for itself" etc)
to nata, arkveld pretty blatantly parallels his own experience of leaving the forbidden lands -- obviously, arkveld still winds up a case of endangering the ecosystem due to the way it attempted to integrate itself, but this development functions as the other side of the coin to nata's development: where one was exposed to the rest of the world and would eventually strive to learn how to be a part of it and not apart from it (nata), the other would take its newfound freedom and fall into destructive behavior (arkveld)
obviously if you've been playing MH for a long time, you already understand that the guild has always existed to preserve the ecosystem, but nata as a character isn't meant to go against this - his development actually supports the guild's longstanding stance as he comes to learn why it was necessary to stop arkveld . so it does get really tiring to hear people say that they "hate him because he doesn't want me to hunt the flagship monster" when that's literally a character point that the main story actively works to resolve

i'd rather you say that you just don't vibe with child characters or dgaf about the story Upfront than parrot the takes of someone who also skipped every single cutscene
