Shadow's No Good, Very Bad Day

#Chronicles of Cassendenia#Ymihr#Esir#Kailera#Hasna#Nahlia#Satyrs#OC#CoC ref#MSPaint Draw#about 10yrs ago i made a bunch of satyrs on SoulCalibur V's CC and i've been tryna justify them being in my world for just as long#changes a bunch of names again bc i both forgot and bc i can#subject to some tweaking - Ceravos are another ethnic group of Nalur elves & take on forms within the Bovidae and Cervidae family#They have uniquely shaped their magic into controlling the degree of their shapeshifting#Which includes full animal transformation; partial shifting to satyr like appearance;#and in rare individuals the ability to morph outside the characteristics of their animal form (ie Ymihr taking on fangs and claws)#Pushing their magic in this way can cause more erratic and reckless behaviour however#(which is just me sneaking more beserkers into my world)

#Chronicles of Cassendenia#Kassier#Shan Halren#Grisha Onesh#OC#CoC ref#MSPaint Draw#less character ref and more general worldbuilding#and very not so secretly - animal practice#Nalur is made up of several ethnic groups and I wanted to -firstly- narrow down what the groups actually are#and -secondly- try and design them more visually distinct from one another and not just differentiated by their seals#so like what animal features carry over in their natural state (tails/wings/etc) and designing mostly unique ear shapes for each group#and then thinking also what carriers over when they've shifted which is mosty piercing and small accessories#their clothes are enchanted away and reappear as they shift back and forth#Bc i personally think it's annoying to have shapeshifters disrobe and redress themselves whenever they change#not inherent tho - Nalur magic is centered around shifting so young elves need to learn how to bend the magic to include their clothes#i have another group kicking around in Nalur but their broad enough to merit a separate post#but i also might add one more to the lot - i don't know to draw bears let's learn :D#now how all these groups work as a “country” that's for future myre to figure out...

#Chronicles of Cassendenia#Shan Aulra#Shan Halren#Valence Roan#OC#coc ref#MSPaint Draw#In an OC mood and clearing out some drafts again and oops this has been sitting in here for a good second#going for 'shunned youth radicalized by evil regime'#no panther form bc they can't shift - hence the 'shunned youth' thing#i think this design pass wraps up all the 'B plot' character reworks#which leaves the other 3 (4?) dragon nations; the Council; some parents; and my main antagonists 😵#also really solidifying my main 4 😵😵#nevermind the other worldbuilding work i want to do like expanding on Nalur; reworking the world map; in-world religions and practices 😵😵😵#welp no ones gonna do it for me _(:з)∠)_

Hello👋✨ and thanks! Oh, I answered something similar before. Like I said here, I mainly use the 'natural pencil' at 4px for doodling, but all my Sonic stuff has been the pencil tool at 3px.

As for canvas size, it's kinda whatever I need it to be - I adjust it constantly while I'm drawing so it's hard to say. Guessing here, bc I don't really keep track, I'd say my canvases tend to start somewhere around 800x800px.

#ask#usually my starting canvas size is 'whatever i saved the last piece at' and then i resize as needed from there#i usually don't check the canvas size unless im intentionally tryna to match it for another piece#which is not very often#or when i just happen to spot a big number and go ' the hell am i doing drawing on a 2000px canvas on msp for?"

#Dragon Age#Dragon Age: the Veilguard#DAtV#Emmrook#Kellum Mercar#Emmrich Volkarin#I did a Leyendecker redraw for Valentine's last year and thought Let's do that again#i started sketching it out in the middle of a work meeting and then took the rest of the day off to draw this instead#i never get anything work related done on meetings days Anyway#plus revs are whatever - i wanted to draw Kellum getting his kisses in!!#anyway the Memorial Garden's Love in Life and Death monument is such a gorgeous set pieces#i'm so glad we get to kiss in front of it hee hee~

I've done that! All the sketchbooks I keep are almost entirely pen drawings. I also thought it helped me be more confident and intentional with my line work, so I hope it keeps doing the same for you!

#ask#i got a similar feeling with doodling in msp which is part of how i started using it so much#but i love drawing in pen when i have my sketchbook out#sometimes it just feels nicer than pencil/col-erase
