Flake in Austria (with short hair!)

Flake Lorenz did a reading in Austria, and Marcel Jöbstl shared a photo and a video of the Rammstein keyboardist who has cut his hair short!

As short hair is my favourite Flake hairdo, I will have to start with a screenshot from the video of him signing a photo. The short, grey hair looks really good on him.

Also adding the full video clip, and the photo posted by Marcel.

Flake talks about GDR in podcast

Flake Lorenz appears in a new podcast by Antje Riis. Her description:

🎹 Flake talks about growing up in Prenzlauer Berg, his musical awakening, his time with Feeling B., how thick his Stasis file is and why his path to becoming a surgeon was blocked. We also talk about the last months of the GDR, how he was surprised by the death of Feeling B. singer Aljoscha Rompe, how Flake looks at the GDR today and where he still finds the inequality between East and West unfair. What a wonderful afternoon with Flake!

Also available on Spotify and Apple Podcast.

Hello.

I don't know if you can help me, but I really want to know which kind of bracelet Paul always wears? The heavy silver one? Because I try to find a similar one, but I just can't find good pictures of it and don'tknow the brand or anything. 😖

And I thought that you, with your good soul and good connections, could help me with that.

Thanks in advance, dear. 🫶

Hi 👋🏻

Well, that's really kind of you to entrust me with this task and to have confidence in me, but I'm not sure if my answer will help you 👀 It's not so easy to track down things like that.

I assume you mean the following bracelet (?):

I think it resembles bracelets from John Hardy, like the ones here (just without the engraving). On the German website for second-hand items, Kleinanzeigen, I also found one that bears some similarities. Otherwise, I'm having a bit of trouble tracing the piece of jewelry – maybe someone from the fandom has another idea 😊

Till Lindemann's costume - close up

Till Lindemann's costume from the 2024 Europe Stadium Tour leg is displayed in the Rammstein store in Berlin (minus the jacket he wore during the opener). These are close-ups of details from the costume.

Like for Flake's costume, Till's is also made to look like it's made of different fabrics when viewed from a distance. The print gives an appearance that it's made from leather, but in reality, it's very light and soft fabric.

The vest and collared shirt together look like a jacket. Only the front part of the belt is gold-painted leather, the rest is heavy cloth. The gaiters give the sneakers a harder look. A funny detail is that they use a Rammstein folding rule to lift up the heel of his right shoe.

All photos by me.

Flake Lorenz's costume - close up

Flake Lorenz's costume is displayed at the physical Rammstein store, which gives visitors a great opportunity to view it up close and personal. It is really interesting to see how the designers made it look like it's made out of totally different fabrics when viewed from a distance.

The jacket and pants are made of painted denim! I would never have guessed. While the jacket and pants are made of pretty sturdy fabric, the shirt is thinner and softer. Flake's golden halo is made of gold-painted strips.

Schneider interview!

Ollie Winiberg interviews Christoph Schneider ahead of the drummer performing at the Europe Drum Show. Published 18.03.2025.

In the interview, Schneider describes his "Spinal Tap" moment:

The first thing it's very, ja, it's maybe not the most funny, but it's a funny story. What came into my mind was a show, when in the middle of the concert, my pedal, bass drum pedal was breaking. So the spring went off or something like that. And I was so upset about that, and I remember that I was trying to fix it during it the day, because I didn't have a drum tech those days. It was Rammstein already, yeah, but in the very beginning. And I remember there was a kind of, electronic part, where the keyboarder was dancing, and I tried in the middle, in the fog and whatever was going on there, I tried to fix my pedal underneath my drum kit, because I didn't have a substitute. And I kind of did it, yeah. And Till asked me: Schneider! What is going on! Can you use the trigger? Can't you use the trigger? That was his solution. I had, he heard about that I had also a trigger on my bass drum, and he said: I can only maybe use only the trigger, yeah. And I said, yeah, I will, somehow I will do it. That was a kind of Spinal Tap moment.

Schneider is also quite modest, and asks people not to expect too much from his performance at the drum show:

I'm coming, and playing, you know what - I haven't done these kind of things. This will be my first time. I never played on any drum show or any drum event or any kind of these - those things I always was afraid of. So - now I have a little bit more time, and I thought, maybe I should do that, because I've been asked. And this is a nice event. And - don't expect too much. I will play a couple of Rammstein songs, that's it. I'm, you know, I'm not a kind of this drummer who can show off a lot of things, I'm a band drummer, and I will keep to that, and I think it's gonna be fun. But don't expect too much.

rammstein can be so demanding

"Gib mir Kraft"

"Gib mir Gift"

"Gib mir Benzin"

like damn guys say please once in awhile or somethin

Well, they are pretty polite when asking for certain things...

"Doch um eines möchte ich bitten - Dicke Titten"
