She/her. I’m enhancing old SPN con videos to make them more watchable and accessible. I'm excessively fond of J2, both together and separately. I'm not "tinhat", but I enjoy suspending my disbelief on occasion and I love their friendship. I’d rather see people talk about what they love and not what they hate, and I try to do the same. I’m not very active on social media, but I use Tumblr more than others. Private messages are welcome. The amazing banner photo is not my own. Click here for source.

Index of Enhanced Edition Con Videos

I'll maintain this index in a pinned post for easy reference. Click the links to go to the YouTube videos, or click here for a more readable Google Docs table which includes these links plus a tab noting which events I skipped, temporarily or permanently, and why.

I'm currently working on Jared's panel at the Fangoria event in Austin in January 2008.

Thank you to everyone who has shown an interest in these videos. The reblogs and likes all made me very happy, and I especially appreciated the kind comments some of you left in your reblog text and tags. I'm unsure of the proper Tumblr way to respond directly to that in a way that won't annoy people, but I've definitely noticed and appreciated it!

An explanation of this project and my plans for it are listed below the break. A lot of it will be familiar if you've read my earlier posts, but it's more detailed -- and excessively long! There's also some info on how you can help, especially if you have any old videos or audio files that you'd be willing to contribute.

New Enhanced Edition - Comic-Con 2007 with Jensen, Eric, Sera, and Ben

My latest video is up. This is the SDCC 2007 panel with Jensen. (Jared had been scheduled to be there, but he missed his flight because he was filming until 6am that morning.)

Additional Footage Found and other Ramblings

Some of you may have seen my pleas searching for anyone who'd downloaded (and still had) all of scaperanya's videos from this panel. I never did manage to turn up the missing files, but I received something better late last week! AgtSpooky dug up a nearly-complete video of the full panel that used to be on the now-dead WinchesterBros.com web site. The video quality was a little low, but the audio was glorious! I edited in all the audio to match up with the higher-quality video I used. Until then, I'd only had good audio for about half of the panel, and the rest of it was really, really bad. In addition to being easier on the ears, it improved the accuracy of my subtitles.

I also used several minutes from that video in the sidebar to give visibility to other speakers in a small window, as well as using a few other videos for the same purpose. My full credits are in the video description. The main part of the video uses a higher-quality video as much as possible (see comparison screen shots below), and that one was focused mostly on Jensen. As it should be. 😂 So I did something similar to what I did for SDCC 2008 a while back -- I tried to give visibility to other people in smaller video windows. You can see an example of it in the thumbnail above, top-left corner. They'll be more useful on larger screens -- probably not so much for viewers on a phone.

Sera gets the least coverage in the sidebar videos, but that wasn't an intentional slight. It was just difficult to fit her in because she was on the opposite side of Jensen from Eric and Ben. She wasn't talking or reacting as much whereas Eric was more actively engaged with most of the questions, so I felt there wasn't usually any justification to cram her onto the screen and I was afraid it was already too cluttered.

What's Next?

I've started the next chronological convention, which is Jared's panel from Fangoria in January 2008. With all the footage synced up, I have about 42 minutes' worth of coverage. There are two gaps of unknown length toward the end, but I ended up with more coverage than I expected when I first started. I'll post more details about that once I announce that video's publication.

Please bear with me if I'm slower than usual to get my next video out. This SDCC video presented a few challenges. I put most of my spare time into working on it and the end result was that I fell behind on both video editing and on general life.

Before/After Comparison Photo

Please join me in a sigh of relief that Jensen's head is finally getting unsquished after 18 years. 😂

Disclaimer: the entire video won't look this good. The below source makes up 88% of the video and I had to use some lower-quality videos to fill in the gaps in their coverage. I also chose one of the better-looking frames for my comparison. Most of it does look very good for a video from 2007 though, and I think with the enhancements it will look better than any version you may have watched before.

A recap for anyone not familiar with this project…

In December 2023, I started a project to enhance old convention videos. The project is mostly focused on Jared and Jensen, but there will occasionally be videos with other actors. I'm upscaling the videos and making other visual improvements, adding extra content to clarify various references, and adding human-generated, color-coded subtitles so you can better understand the sometimes-chaotic audio. The subtitles can be auto-translated to other languages via YouTube.

My goal is to publish the best, most complete, and most watchable versions of these older convention panels yet seen, but this is only possible thanks to the fans who captured the footage in the first place and were generous enough to share it with other fans. My video descriptions on YouTube will always credit my sources.

If you have any old convention videos you'd be willing to contribute to this project, please message me! I can also be reached at DetailTilted@gmail.com. If I can get them to upscale (I can't always), I'd happily send the upscaled files back to you for your own collection whether I use them or not.

More BOSCON 2025 content may be coming...

The same channel (ChristianKnorr-o6x) who posted the almost-full Gold panel said they also have the regular panel -- which I'm interpreting to mean the main J2 panel -- and also Misha's panel. I just wanted to throw out a quick note so the people who are interested can watch for it in case I don't see it quickly.

I think there's another decent-quality Misha video out there already, but it would be great to have an alternative to the ugly StageIt recording of the main J2 panel.

If you haven't seen it, a different person did record a pretty good front-row video of the last question. They confirmed (on Reddit) that they didn't get anything else from the panel. The person who recorded this video is, by the way, the person who asked the interesting question about the job application.

Even though I expected it, I was disappointed that Creation didn't seem to have made any progress in improving their StageIt streaming video quality. It looked as dark as it did for the one last December. It was also glitchy with freezes and out-of-sync audio at times. It's difficult to say how much of that was on my end and how much on theirs, but I did watch with a hard-wired fiber internet connection.

More BOSCON 2025 J2 Gold Panel! (Maybe all of it now, or close to it.)

What a great thing to wake up to. The same person who had posted the two videos I posted last night posted several more. Here's all of them, including the ones I posted last night, so that they're all in one place. (The first two are the ones I posted last night.)

Please take the time to give them some love on YouTube, too. I think they're a new channel and getting videos of the Gold panels are becoming less and less of a certain thing. I think we should make sure the people who are doing it know how much we appreciate it.

Part of the J2 Gold Panel from BOSCON 2025 (plus most recent StageIt upload of main panel)

I haven't yet seen any sign of a full Gold panel, or even any hints that one might be coming, but there's always hope.

Meanwhile, there are two videos on YouTube adding up to 9 minutes and Fangasm has also posted some short clips on X and Bluesky.

Below are the Fangasm Gold panel clips I'm aware of, which I think were probably already posted here. I'm utterly behind on everything in life right now, so I haven't watched these and I'm just pasting them in a completely haphazard order so this may not be the correct order of events. I couldn't even swear I'm not posting the same clip more than once. Sorry for the disorganization! But I thought I'd share so people who have time and haven't seen them already can watch.

And last of all, this is the only full video of the main J2 panel that I'm aware of. It's the StageIt version so the video quality is very bad. There was another StageIt upload posted on Sunday, but that entire account is gone, so I don't know if people who repost StageIt videos are getting their accounts deleted if they get caught or if it was a voluntary choice made by the account. The length of this video is different than the length of the first video was, so I don't think it's the same person.

Sun. April 13 at 2:45 pm ET: Mark Sheppard - Q+A On Stage Panel

Sun. April 13 at 4:15 pm ET- Jensen Ackles & Jared Padalecki - Q+A On Stage Panel

I'm glad they're doing more StageIt streaming. I'll probably attend the J2 panel if nothing comes up that I think will conflict.

The only one I've attended before was the Nashville one at the end of last year. I thought I'd mention a few things for anyone who's thinking about it or who would like more details before deciding.

  1. Each panel is $15 U.S. They have some sort of "notes" system -- a ticket costs 150 notes, and 10 notes cost $1. You have to do some math to figure out your ticket price. 🤣
  2. J2 (and probably the other actors too; I'm sure we've all heard the "Where's Misha" song!) often end up behind schedule at the cons, so it may not start at the scheduled time. The one I attended started an hour late. If you have a tight schedule, or if you're not in the U.S. and the time is already bad for you, that's something you'll definitely want to be prepared for.
  3. I don't know if it was an anomaly, but the video quality was bad for the Nashville panel. It came out very dark. You can see videos of it on YouTube. I've watched video recordings of older StageIt panels and as far as I remember they looked ok, but my video editing project has also made me a lot pickier about video quality so maybe I didn't notice it before. Or maybe it was just a fluke. But it's another possibility to keep in mind, I guess.

Despite all that, I really enjoyed watching the J2 panel at Nashville. For me, having never been to a convention, it was the closest I'd ever come to seeing them "real time" if not in person. That made it more fun for me, plus the panel itself was a lot of fun.

3 More JIB15 Videos from Amberdreams

Give it an hour or two before you watch them, because they were only just recently put up and it takes YouTube time to process the HD version. You'll only get SD at the moment, but their other videos have been beautiful and I'm sure these will be too. Edit: They're all in HD now and look beautiful as usual!

Jensen and Misha from Sunday, April 6.

Jared and Misha from Sunday, April 6.

Jensen & Richard, J2R2, Closing Ceremony from Sunday, April 6.

And yes, maybe I did immediately search for the hand-holding moment. The other videos I saw didn't have a very clear view, but this one does. It will look even better once it finishes processing the HD quality. (Yes, it looks great!) This link will go to a point a few seconds before it.

New JIB15 Vids Up from Amberdreams

As with their other videos, the quality looks beautiful from what I saw.

Combined video with Rob's solo panel, Jensen & Rob, and Jensen's solo panel. These all took place on Saturday, April 5.

Jared & Rob's panel. This took place on Sunday, April 6.

There have been tons and tons of videos posted by various people, most of which have already been mentioned by other people on Tumblr. With more still to come, I'm sure. They're all getting added sooner or later to this page on the Supernatural Wiki, so that's a good place to watch. It's a little more organized versus trying to keep up with lots of separate posts from different people. (They have pages for all the conventions, past and known future. The main convention page is here.)

JIB15 - Another Version of the J2 Panel from Saturday (Looks like really nice quality!)

I haven't had the chance to watch anything today, but Amberdreams posted a full video of the J2 panel from Saturday. From what little I saw, it looks like the quality is beautiful.

Hopefully I’m not repeating anything because this video has been up for several hours, but I tried to scroll through the tags and didn’t see it. (It may have gotten drowned out by the J2 piggy back ride, though -- which I absolutely loved seeing all 50,234 times. 🤣)

Somebody else already posted the Jensen and Misha vids from their panel today, so I won’t duplicate that.

I haven’t yet seen anything more than brief clips from any of the other panels with Jared and/or Jensen, but they’ll probably start to show up after people get home and have a chance to recover. I'm super grateful that it looks like there were a lot of people at JIB sharing content -- whether short clips or full videos or pictures!

19 Minutes of J2 Panel at JIB15, plus Jared crashing Jensen's panel

Sorry if I'm repeating what someone else has already posted, but I didn't see these up on Tumblr yet.

There's a 19 minute video of the J2 panel (not complete) from PurpleNurpleReviews on YouTube. (Edited to add: I've just now watched it and it's pretty shaky, and sometimes it cuts off at times when you wish it wouldn't, but there are several funny moments for those of us who are starved for new J2 content! Hopefully a full panel will be up eventually.)

And two one-minute videos of Jared crashing Jensen's solo panel later. Posted by Julie_Fleming on X.

Edit: And I just realized these only look like videos and don't actually play here in my post. 🤣 Apparently I'm inept at sharing X content. Here are direct links to the posts so you can view the videos:

Looking for people who were SPN fans around 2007-ish. (Lost SDCC 2007 Video Files)

Hi! Are there any SPN fans still around from back in 2007 who downloaded and still have the SDCC 2007 videos that were once available at this link? https://scaperanya.livejournal.com/2037.html#t55541

About My Quest

There were 23 videos listed (including a "#6.5") , but only 12 of them have been located on YouTube, published by Mobycat33. Part #'s 1-6, 7-9, 16, and 18 are missing. At one point they were reportedly all on YouTube, but maybe some of them were made private or unlisted or deleted altogether.

Since the videos were made freely available for download on a file sharing site at the time, I'm still holding out a tiny thread of hope that maybe a fan who was around back then might have quietly downloaded them and managed to hang onto them for all these years.

I actually did manage to make contact with scaperanya and she graciously granted me permission to use content from the videos that still exist, but she didn't seem to have the missing videos. I don't think she's in the fandom anymore and the videos are almost 18 years old. I also managed to hunt down a couple of the people who commented on her original post, but I couldn't track down very many of them and I haven't been able to find anyone who still has the files.

A Note for Followers of My Videos

Don't worry, I do have enough SDCC 2007 content already to make a full video. The main set of videos I'm using has a pretty good view of Jensen most of the time. It's just that I could really use more of scaperanya's videos to increase visibility of the other people on the panel. When possible and/or relevant, I have a smaller window in the sidebar showing people who aren't in the main frame. It's similar to what I did for SDCC 2008, but without the perpetually collapsing bubbles. I have now managed to muster up enough sense to not make the windows round! Also, the audio in this panel is reaaaaallly bad at times, so another audio source would be a huge help for the subtitling endeavor.

Contact Methods and Logistics

Feel free to contact me however you feel comfortable, whether in response to this post or via another method. Private messages are fine, and you can also e-mail me at DetailTilted@gmail.com.

If you're concerned about the logistics of how to share the files, I usually use WeTransfer.com which allows limited free transfers. You input the person's e-mail address you want to share the files with and attach your files. It will automatically upload your files and send the person an e-mail with a link to download them. The other person will see your e-mail address, so you'd want to use an address you're comfortable sharing with me or else create a new one. If you have another preferred file sharing service, I'm definitely happy to work with that. I just wanted to explain one way it could work for people who have never shared large files before. I know sometimes I'm reluctant to offer to do something I don't know how to do for fear it will turn into a major ordeal that I don't have time for. Transferring files this way is actually super simple.

If I can answer any other questions, just let me know. I do not pester people, so if you contact me with questions and then decide not to do it and I never hear from you again (or even if I do), I promise I won't follow up and bug you about it.

Relogs for Visibility Greatly Appreciated!

I'd be greatly appreciative of anyone willing to reblog this to help increase visibility. This is my last ditch effort before I give up and declare it a lost cause.

NEW Enhanced Edition - VANCON 2011 - Main J2 Panel

My latest video went up this past Friday! It's the main J2 panel from VACON 2011. About 94% of the video and 48% of the audio came from AgtSpooky. Most of the remaining audio came from SPNJAVideos.

There are about 76 seconds' worth of content here that I think most people will not have seen. I don't believe it was in any video found on YouTube. The main video I used had a few short gaps and there were very few other videos of this panel out there. However, SPNJAVideos stealthily hung a phone around her neck to record the stage from the front row and captured that missing footage. (She also managed to record several clips from the first half of the panel with her camera, which is where half of the audio I used came from.)

Phones from 2011 of course took very low-quality videos, so the phone video wasn't on YouTube, but SPNJAVideos generously offered it to me for this project and it's thanks to that video that I was able to fill in all the missing pieces. The missing footage isn't anything earth shattering, but now we can finally hear the entire "strange food quirks" answer from beginning to end. It also filled in a small bit of missing footage as they were getting ready to end the panel. This is all within the last 10 minutes of the video.

This panel was the last video I had from the amazing AgtSpooky. I'm now circling back to some of the earlier conventions that I'd skipped. Currently, I'm working on Comic-Con 2007. Jared had to miss that one, but Jensen was there along with Eric Kripke, Sera Gamble, and Ben Edlund. The video will be about 40 minutes long, so it will probably take me 4 weeks to complete.

Although I've skipped (again) two earlier conventions, I do plan to do something with them eventually, probably sooner rather than later. That's Grand Slam with Jared in 2006 and the first Asylum with Jensen in 2007. They have much less footage available and I need to spend more time digging into them and deciding how best to handle them.

Supernatural —-> [ Season 1 - Gag Reel ]

They both make it look easy, but look at Jared's hand. No, not the one pulling up Jensen's clothes to give us a peek at bare skin. The other one. To me, it looks like he's only got a hold of one of Jensen's legs. I think Jensen's holding his left leg up on his own.

J2 Photos from CHICON 2007

I was trying to help someone find a photo earlier today and this was the rabbit hole I fell down. I can remember these moments crystal clear from the con vids, but sometimes it's nice to see the photos with better resolution.

This group is from when Jared came on stage at the end of Jensen's panel. These photos (and more) are all from this album.

That last one came out a little wonky, but look at Jared's fingers. He is squeezing tight!

There were iconic moments at the breakfast that I see shared a lot, but I don't see this one posted as much: the sweaty beast wipes his sweaty head off on his human towel. (The first photo shows the sweat better.) From this album.

When I fell down this rabbit hole, I was actually just looking for some photos of Jensen wearing the Sam Winchester T-Shirt. From this album.
