🤍 Inspiration for my OC Araceli Cage (updated), since the last time I did it was in 2023 and in recent years I have developed my character better and orientated her in other ways, adding some more personal things in terms of my tastes, since now I no longer limit myself and I pour into her everything that I like, influencing her story and so on 😊
🖤 Lei Fang and Xiaoyu: I put them together because they are both very similar and inspire me in the same aspects. They are my favorite characters from Tekken and DOA, hence the inspiration for certain hairstyles, the Asian style (Chinese to be more exact, on Lei Fang's side), the cheerful and sweet personality, and the devotion and simplicity they have for their crush 😹 always behind their beloved one
🖤 Lei Wulong and Brad Wong: Although Araceli is Bo'Rai Cho's adoptive daughter and they have the same fighting style (Drunken Fist), I have imagined the fighting moves she would have exactly like Lei and Brad's who are also Drunken Fist fighters but without resorting to 'dirtier' attacks. XD But hey don't think this changes something, she's still the same dirty, clumsy girl with onion smell lol
🖤 Tomie: I think this is the MOST noticeable influence, the hairstyles (the white tiara in her hair came from there xD), the clothing on several occasions, the way of being flirtatious and mocking (generally in the fight). That dark, monstrous side, that contrasts all that beauty. Anyway, I love Tomie and I got a lot of inspiration from her to make Araceli Cage.
🖤 Yōkai: I have a lot of love for Yōkai, they are a belief for me and I have a lot of respect for them, I still keep reading and informing myself about them and as I developed my love for them, I decided that my OC would be a Shape-shifting Yōkai, so as I learn about each Yōkai, I explore those abilities or forms with my OC taking advantage of the fact that she is the type that can transform into several of these (hence the 'shape-shifter').
🖤 J-Horror: I used the genre to summarize several things in one word. The whole ghostly thing, the shape of the souls in pain (inspired by the Noh Mask, the monsters of Forbidden Siren, Walk散歩, among other typical Japanese monsters). The possessed form of my character that varies in size and shape, inspired by the Yūrei and Onryōs (such as Sadako from The Ring, Kayako Saeki from Ju-On, Bushinsaba, etc.), also taking an idea from a cover of Last Days of Humanity, the ghosts from Fatal Frame, and then there's the tall one that obviously had a lot of influence for that form of my OC, the ghost Hachishakusama.
The masks that my OC wears (although she rarely uses them, I explained this better in another post talking about this topic), generally the Noh Mask or the Oni Mask, which despite not coming directly from J-Horror, have appeared in quite a lot of content related to the genre due to their mysterious appearances, their powers or hidden legends and meanings.
