There are still a few minutes left in @dianakko-day for me! This is a little fan art for my friend @kayr0ss's lovely fic Appointments. This bit is from Chapter 11 - I did my best to give Diana "the silliest grin Akko had ever seen on her face." Hope you like it, happy Diakko Day, and thank you Kay for all your stories.

Lovely art to go along with a lovely story! We will always adore situations where Diana supports Akko and vice-versa.

Happy Diakko Day!!!

Diana walked along a stone fence on the Luna Nova grounds. Her ever excitable girlfriend Akko was beside her, walking along the fence with her arms out.

"Hey, Diana," Akko said.

"Yes?" Diana knew the tone well. That was Akko's "I have a really stupid question" tone.

"What would you do if I jumped on you right now?" Akko asked.

"Get out of the way?" Diana said. In their first semester, when she hadn't been used to Akko's quirks yet, Diana would have brushed his off as an obnoxious, attention grabbing plea of a failing student desperate for anyone to notice them. Now, she understood the charms of it.

"No way," Akko said. "You would not be able to dodge me, I can jump pretty dang far, you know."

"Can you, now?" Diana smiled.

The two exchanged a glance, a silent challenge made. Diana quickly ran through all the spells in her head that could assist in this situation. But would it be fair to cast a speed spell when Akko was surely about to leap at her? The mental image of Akko flopping on her face was funny, but one Diana would like to avoid if possible. But Akko did have that insanely powerful innate physical skill, so maybe it would just even the playing field.

Either way, she had moments to decide. Akko crouched, ready to leap.

"On three," she said. Diana nodded.

"One...twooooo...three!"

Akko leapt forward. Diana got her wand out, but at the last moment she couldn't think of a spell she wanted to use. Out of some strange instinct, perhaps one trying to match Akko's chaotic energy, she turned to face her girlfriend as she jumped at her. Akko even looked surprised by this move, unsure of how to counter this in mid air with her arms spread.

Diana caught Akko in a hug, stumbling backwards. It wasn't a clean catch, and she ended up tripping on herself, nearly knocking the wind out of herself as she flopped backwards.

"Oh! Diana, are you OK?" Akko asked.

Diana blinked. Seeing Akko above her, eyes wide with concern, something about it made her heart swell. But it was also so silly that they ended up like this. She chuckled.

"I'll take that as a ye—" Akko started before Diana interrupted her with a quick kiss.

"I'm perfect," Diana said. "Anywhere I'm with you is."

Akko blushed, a grin slowly forming on her face as she processed the kiss and Diana's words. "Hehehe...you always know just what to say, huh..."

Oh my gosh this is the cutest thing ever! Akko being a gremlin as always and Diana knowing her girlfriend is so peak! This wasn’t late, it was just on time ☺️
