voice acting as a profession is so funny because you'll see someone being like "voice actors need to be paid better! like [obscure person you've never heard of]" and you're like "oh I wonder who that person is, maybe I've heard them voice a character" and you look it up and it turns out they voice 137 characters in Futurama and 94 characters in The Simpsons and 96 characters in Adventure Time and every one of the My Little Ponies and 27 characters in Arcane and 96 characters in Kim Possible and 4 characters in Phineas and Ferb and 296 characters in Dexter's Laboratory and all of the main cast of Fairly Odd Parents and at least 6 characters in every Pixar movie and almost every animated depiction of Superman and 473 SpongeBob characters and they've been in every installment of Mass Effect and Halo and The Elder Scrolls and Fallout and Call of Duty and they were in Star Trek and Law & Order and they were 12 characters in the MCU and they also invented t-shirts and the colour green and they got paid a sum total of $3.27 and a mothball for all of it combined. then you go burn down David Zaslav's house with him inside

Another year has come and gone but things have hardly changed in Gaza. Israel has resumed the bombing, targeting civil workers/medics and children, while the world watches and harasses diaspora Palestinians and allies who have protested against the genocide. My friend Siraj in his previous post has said that Palestinians and Gazans do not need prayers. They do nothing for them...what is needed is action and material support. Also I want you to remember that Gofundme is complicit in this genocide! I cannot in good sense call it anything else. They have unfairly deleted thousands of Gazan fundraisers, which are basically the only lifelines for many families; they have also blocked community projects like the Sameer Project from accessing funds ( at least that's what I saw the last time I checked).

I am requesting you to not let this slide. My friend Siraj lost 32k when the fundraising site in their callousness deleted two of his fundraisers back to back without giving any valid reason. So if you have donated in October-December of 2024, and in January of 2025 ( this second fundraiser was run by Siraj's sister Fatima), please ask for a refund. The site has to give back the money by their own policy, as they allow refund requests upto a year. Please help my friend access these lifesaving funds.

btw being excessively nonconfrontational is NOT a positive trait. it does not mean u are “too nice” or just too kind to hurt people, it means u have a problem communicating and you need to work on it.

There are people in the notes saying that the alternative reason is that they’re doing it because of trauma and i gotta say that

1) same. I did have this same problem and reason for doing it.

2) this is not actually an alternate reason. You guys also have a problem communicating and while you can trace exactly WHY you have trouble communicating that doesn’t mean it’s okay to treat everyone like they’re potentially your former abuser and that you DO still need to work on this.

Literally the perfect encapsulation of how americans legitimately don't conceptualize the violence and terror that the US military enacts as a real thing simply because they're used to thinking of the victims as faceless offscreen abstract masses.

Cops kill and steal. Meanwhile soldiers sign up and then the screen fades to black until they come back traumatized and missing a limb. That's all they do. They sign up and then come back broken, and whatever they did imbetween happened offscreen so it doesn't matter.

Also the absolute hilarity of "how often the police union and most rural police forces have been infiltrated by literal nazis" being listed as a difference between the police and the military.

Because as we know, "shooting guns at (mostly brown) foreigners" is not a career path that tends to be disproportionately attractive to a significant number of nazis. Not at all.
