For My Nerd Shit

@doesanineteenhit

This has turned into my d20 fic writing blog i fear. Same name on Ao3!
Hi! Nice to meet ya

Im a d20 enthusiast who dabbles in fic writing! My name is the same on Ao3! This is my side blog!!! I can't like posts from here but I can sure comment and reblog!

Current Fics:

Sleeper Agent; In Progress

Art of War; In Progress

The Haunting of Mordred Manor; 👀

Im Archie! My pronouns are He/They

Thanks for checking me out!!

I need you to understand that when I say "comments are appreciated!" I mean that I will reply to every one of them. I mean that an email with an ao3 notification has a higher priority than a message from my mother. I mean that I will have entire discussions in the comment section if you're up for it. Message me on tumblr and I will have the same discussions on an even more unhinged level. I will dissect entire personalities and ships and fictional political structures and worldbuilding with you. I will become your new best friend. You already ARE my new best friend. At the last battle, I would raise Anduril and say "For my ao3 readers" while a single tears rolls down my cheek, and dive into the fray. I would upload from beyond the grave if someone asked about the next chapter

Dimension 20's Fanfic Masquerade*

Hello! Welcome to the intro post of the newest Dimension 20 event!

First, some background on why the event is happening:

I (@totallynotmeems) was a part of a fandom a couple years ago that did an event like this and it was a huge hit. Now, being fairly new to this fandom, I looked around for events and saw that there weren't as many as I was used to. Understanding that it takes a lot to organize one, and to get enough people with interest to participate, it makes sense that in a smaller fandom, there would be less events. So I thought I'd try to make one.

Second, what should you do: (if you are a writer)

  1. You sign up (this is just so that we can figure out how many participants and contact you for updates about the event) on this form
  2. We'll add your name to a spreadsheet and give you a link to join the discord server (this is currently the option winning this poll). You are not required to join, but highly encouraged to. If you need us to contact you on tumblr instead, please let us know when you sign up.
  3. We'll post updates on how the schedule will go on this blog and the discord. (this discord isn't up quite yet, but will be soon)
  4. On a date that hasn't been decided quite yet (we need to deliberate and vote on this once people have signed up) fics will need to be posted in a specific time span (probably a week to qualify). Directions on how to post the fic to the collection will be provided when they are needed.
  5. Please remember to have fun! No writing requirements are currently active, so short and long fics are accepted! Just please make sure that the entire fic is done and posted before the posting week is finished!

Third, what should you do: (if you are a reader)

  1. Feel free to join the discord server once it is up for updates!
  2. Comment & kudos on the qualifying fics once they are posted!
  3. Guess the author of the fics! (basically a ratfish scenario)
  4. Best Guesser and Best Hider will be rewarded (with special roles in the discord server)
  5. Most importantly, have fun and make sure you engage with the fics!

Note: Please contact me through this sideblog so everything stays organized. Asks will be open and so will DMs.

Sign-ups close April 5th!

*please reblog for reach*

Some things inspired by the Fanlore Article!

Just some rules!

  1. Fics must be in English.
  2. Fics must be original. This means that you can't add to a series of works you have already posted (for obvious reasons).
  3. Fics must be posted anonymously to the collection.
  4. Once posted, authors must reveal themselves to the event organizer (please do it through this blog, though!)

And some pointers on how to conceal your identities to the readers!

  1. Do the opposite of what you'd normally do
  2. Do the exact same as what you'd usually do (reverse psychology!)
  3. Pretend to be someone else / drop some fake tells
  4. Write something so "out there" that no one would ever think it was you
  5. You're a new writer, so this is your chance to get people familiar with your style! Just write how you usually would!

Based on a question from @vivitalks!

"If I'm already working on a fic that qualifies, can I submit it?"

In all honesty, yes. We don't have anything against that specifically, as long as it hasn't been posted/nothing has been made public about it. As long as it's a never-been-posted fic, you're all good!
