hey! i’m slowly gaining more followers here, so i updated my carrd in case any of you wanted to know more about me! (it basically just contains a list of my other interests, links to my other social media accounts, and some of my artwork from the past year and a half or so)

links to spn creations of mine below the cut:

what’s your favorite random episode. not a fan favorite, not plot-relevant, not notoriously bad, not even recognizable. what’s your favorite forgotten bullshit motw episode. mine are 7.7 the mentalists and 10.6 ask jeeves

i am NOT talking about a good motw episode from s1-5 i’m talking about piece of shit filler episodes from mid to late seasons that no one likes but you!!!

‘She wasn’t a good mother’ great are we evaluating this character trait as one of her many facets or are we just damning her for not being the most maternal womanliest woman who ever womaned

the thrilling sequel ‘he’s a bad father but we’re using it as grounds to see him as beloved and a deeply complex and intellectual character that needs to be studied’

At the risk of causing fandom drama:

Inspired by a recent conversation lol

PS pls don't kill each other over this silly poll but also I wanna see the reasoning for your choice 🍿🍿🍿

Anonymous asked:

should i read atylk by opal_bullets? is it actually that good? second question: if i’m a poet myself will it be more or less devastating?

oooohhhh okay very complicated answer incoming—

atylk was my very favorite destiel fic back when i was getting back into spn and reading a Lot of fic, and while i’m not sure i’d still say that, it still holds a very special place in my heart, especially for being the thing to officially give me the final push to start writing again after a long time, and specifically to write fic, which i had never done before

if we’re being 100% honest here, atylk dean and cas are really not very much like their canon counterparts, and i think that may bother some people, but i’ve always been of the opinion that characters being ooc is kind of like…part of the point of an au + a good exercise for the author honestly. like—who would this character we all know and love be different under these different circumstances? how would they have adapted differently?

i think that if the writing and story in an au is good enough, the ooc-ness doesn’t personally bother me that much, but i know it’s a major pet peeve for others. and to each their own! i think that for the most part the writing in atylk is solid, and particularly special to a lot of us who are writers ourselves (especially poets)

not everyone may find that to be the case, but i’d still recommend anyone who’s interested check it out and see for themselves!!

(and while it may not be my top destiel fic of all time anymore, it still has one of the best and most nuanced john portrayals that i’ve ever seen, and for that i think it deserves some flowers)
