- bite nails short

*short as in level with or shorter than your fingertip

If it’s from force of habit from childhood (or similar), choose the option that was the main reason before it was habit

I know this is going to make me sound pretensions but I have to get it off my chest. I feel an unimaginable rage when someone posts a photo and is like "this picture looks like a renaissance painting lol" when the photo clearly has the lighting, colors and composition of a baroque or romantic painting. There are differences in these styles and those differences are important and labeling every "classical" looking painting as renaissance is annoying and upsetting to me. And anytime I come across one of those posts I have to put down my phone and go take a walk because they make me so mad

In case you're curious here's what I mean.

Renaissance(distinct lines, stability and the individual man):

Baroque (bold, chaotic, dramatic):

Romantic(romanticize the simple hard working life):

Do you see the difference?

this post has re-wired my brain in the best way

To the folks saying that Xbox was laughed at when they announced the Xbox One was not going to let you run games without mandatory internet checks every so often and then bullied into NOT doing it...

They did do it back then. They're still doing it now. They just don't tell you up front anymore.

And the company (Sony) that made fun of them at that E3 also started doing it and are still doing it now. They ALSO don't tell you up front.

And Steam does it for a bunch of titles.

And Epic's game services does it too.

And so do all digital distribution platforms.

And so do any/all software that have become "subscription services" too.

This has been going on for 15+ years now, it's been a whole ass war on you NOT actually owning the digital version of the thing you "purchase" and that the company you buy it from has the ability to lock you out of it temporarily or permanently on a whim.

It ain't just a gaming issue, it's a whole Companies Vs The People issue on all fronts.

Like seriously a company, once again, tells you "Yeah that's what this is and what it always has been" and people are acting like this is NEW.

It ain't new, you've just been not informed by the companies doing it to you for the last 15+ years after one company got made fun of for it one time and they learned that telling you made you mad.

So when a different company tells you again and you get mad again - we're just gonna repeating the cycle in infinitum until a real solution is found.

"WE TANKED XBOX FOR LESS THAN THIS!"

We did not tank them.

We did not wreck them.

We did not bully them into submission.

They just said "NEVERMIND" to our faces and then did it anyway without being super obvious about it and are still doing it today.

They literally had the capitol to purchase Activision/Blizzard/King last year for nearly $70 Billion.

They ain't hurtin', they weren't tanked.

Yeah sure let's just check in on the retro gaming market right now!

Nope, looks like that's also not really viable because of greedy business practices too.

you guys know you can get USB connectable CD, dvd, and blu-ray players right. and you can buy external hard drives with crazy amounts of space for an amount of money that would make the average person from 2009’s head explode bc of how cheap it is. and if you do this and get ripping software such as handbrake for CDs and DVDs and makeMKV for blurays you can both own a physical copy of whatever media you want and make it accessible to yourself no matter where you are. do you guys know this

lots of people are reblogging this and tagging it #piracy—i should clarify, this is not piracy! ripping DVDs and CDs to have your own copy is fully legal, because it’s your legal right to do what you will with your property individually. it only becomes illegal if you then distribute that file on the internet.

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

why are time loops always only like 1 day long?

the real horror is a months or years long time loop. no speedrunning your torture here. you have to sit with the consequences of your actions for a loooong time before the release of knowing the consequences and actions have been erased.

but oh, all the actions and consequences are gone. those relationships you built? empty. you can never build them again without the constant guilt of knowing that it's not as real the second, third, thirtieth time when you already know all their secrets and they none of yours.

but you can't hide. you can't isolate yourself because what if this is the time the loop breaks and then what? years gone by of missed chances with people who have changed you a thousand times and now circumstances have changed. you can never build back what was washed away by your own inaction. they'll never be able to meet you like they did the first time if you don't choose to meet them the first time every time

Official Time Loop Post

You can never have the same child twice. How many loops does it take a grieving time traveller to accept that.

In 1944 a kitten named George (short for General Electric) was saved from drowning by a U.S. Navy crew member. George was then photographed and given a liberty card and detailed health record. Source.

Nationality: pussy

this is the funniest fucking medical report i’ve ever seen, like yeah nationality: pussy but also the 69’s?? “cattish”??? “he does alright”???

Imagine you get the info card by itself

His name is General Electric George, Christian name General Electric surname George

UM GUYS. I JUST NOTICED A CRAZY ISSUE W THE TUMBLR UPDATE.

YOU CAN SEE THE ICONS OF ANONS SOMETIMES.

The way I was able to recognize several anons in one of my inboxes bc of this error. Oh my god. Guys. This isn’t supposed to happen.

Weighing in to say:

YES, I SEE THIS ON MOBILE. HOWEVER I DO **NOT** THINK IT'S SHOWING THE ANON'S REAL IDENTITY.

The profile pictures I see next to anon asks are profile pictures that belong to other, non-anon asks in my ask box also. Some info

  • there are 14 asks in my inbox from the last ~5 days
  • 9 anons, 5 logged in users
  • ALL 14 show pfps, including the 9 anons
  • ALL THE SHOWN PROFILE PICTURES BELONG TO THE 5 LOGGED IN USERS

I think the bug is the inbox INCORRECTLY attributing anons to neighboring, logged-in asks.

Which is still a bad bug! Considering it makes it look like a long-time follower of mine sent me a spam ask.

And is worse if, say, one of these was anon hate.

But it's NOT the anon's real identity. It's a neighboring ask asker's identity

So if you have anon hate in your inbox that looks like it's attributed to your dear friend, who sends you lovely asks all the time, it was Not them.

CONFIRMED THE BUG IS INCORRECT ATTRIBUTION.

Thanks @thepatchycat for being a test subject. As you can see the icon being attributed to this ask is NOT the patchy cat

The pictured icon belongs to @watchingforcomets who sent me a nice ask about nail polish yesterday which I have not yet answered!
